Live Pic of Sony D6503 Sirius Leaked with rubber borders or Black Aluminium Frame ?

Just a few hours before Sony’s press conference at MWC 2014, a live pic of Sony D6503 Sirius has been leaked and interestingly it either features black rubber border like Xperia Z or black aluminium frame; which is a bitter different from what we saw in earlier leaked pics of prototype of Sony D6503 Sirius.

Below leaked pic comes from Digi-Wo user who have leaked pics of so many Xperia smartphones before their launch. Can it be that Sony changed the design of Sony D6503 Sirius for the final appearance and it is now different from the prototype. Stereo speakers can be clearly seen in the pic, Sony and Xperia logo as usual at same place.

Volume rocker buttons, power key and external cam button is also spotted exactly at same place where we saw in prototype device.

In various leaked screenshots of Sony D6503 Sirius we spotted that it sports a new battery icon now which drew some negative feedback from users. Well user iRimas who hold this prototype has just leaked two screenshots with Stamina Mode On/Off Battery Icons. Let’s have a look.

Sony D6503 Sirius features same 20.7 MP rear cam with “G” Lens as we spotted in leaked specifications but in prototype handset you can’t see the MP and sensor size as it is not mentioned.

As per user iRimas who holds this prototype version, side bezels are thin and screen looks better than Xperia Z1. Xperia Z2 Tablet has already been leaked in pics ( press renders ), we hope to see both devices at MWC 2014 from Sony.

As MWC 2014 event is coming near we are seeing daily some leaks regarding Sony D6503 Sirius much rumored to be commercially named as Xperia Z2. Just now as claimed, original Sony D6503 Sirius front panel is listed at Moumantai, online spare parts retailer shop in Japan. It is labelled as Xperia Z2 “Sirius” for NTT DoCoMo by the retailer.

On the top of Sony D6503 Sirius front panel, NTT DoCoMo logo is spotted and on bottom Sony logo which clearly hints that Sony D6503 Sirius well head to Japan also and that too early after global launch. Sony D6503 Sirius front panel listed can not be bought right now.

Two pics have been leaked by a tipster from Digi-Wo where he has shown Sony D6503 Sirius in comparison with Xperia Z1 and Xperia Z. If the tipster is to be believed he says “Sony D6503 is Xperia Z2 whose listing will go live in April and it comes with Sony logo no longer printed on anti-shatter film“. We can’t confirm the exact model name of Sony D6503, for the time being take this info with a pinch of salt 😉

On the lockscreen, music scrubber is displayed and you can select any part of music to be played, this feature is right now not available on android 4.3 Xperia Z1 as it is a native KitKat feature. Camera launch icon is also spotted at bottom.

Another interesting statement was quoted by “iRimas” that right now there is no option to switch on ART settings in the firmware running on this prototype, which is again a native KitKat feature. We hope all new features which we saw in Sony D6503 Sirius KitKat firmware also comes to Xperia Z1, Z Ultra and Z1 Compact when android 4.4 KitKat arrives on them.

New 15.5MP Manual Mode camera settings in Sony D6503

New Camera Mode seen in Sony D6503 settings :- 20.7 MP 5248×3936 ( 4:3 ), 15.5 MP 5248×2952 ( 16 : 9 ). At present on Xperia Z1, you can shoot pics at 20.7 MP resolution and then at 8 MP.

We expect Sony rolls out similar 4K Video app, Timeshift Video app, Creative Effect Camera App etc. on Xperia Z1, Xperia Z Ultra and Xperia Z1 Compact on android 4.4.2 KitKat in future. It is still under speculation whether these features will be given or not. Sony has already started working on KitKat 14.3.A.x.xxx firmware KitKat for Xperia Z1, Z Ultra and Z1 Compact. At present tipster has not leaked the download version of these apps.

Sony D6503 Sirius camera photo samples leaked, compared with Xperia Z1

Sony D6503 aka Sony Sirius which has been unofficially announced as the real pics of Sony D6503 have been leaked weeks ago with an overview of what Sony has planned for users on Xperia Android 4.4.2 KitKat 4.4.2 UI. A much before that we saw Sony D6503 allegedly appearing in the AnTuTu Benchmark database and scoring 29745 points. Sony D6603 has also been spotted but with no images till now.

As you know Sony D6503 Sirius features same 20.7 MP rear cam with Sony “G” lens exactly like Xperia Z1, users were asking for the camera photo samples of it to check whether it’s camera quality is better than Xperia Z1 or not. Let us tell you clearly that Sony D6503 features same cam as Xperia Z1, only the firmware featured is different that’s why you may find a great difference in the camera photo samples of both.

Camera Mode :- Below pic is taken in “superior auto mode” with flash on.

In above set of pics, pic taken from Sony D6503 appeared more bright and detailed.

NOTE :- In above set of pics, flash light is not seen on the pic sample of Xperia Z1 in TV, we too have commented in the original post by “iRimas” regarding this clarification but no words from him till now.

Camera Mode :- Below pic is taken in a room with no light ( dark room ) “superior auto mode” with flash on.

In above set of pics, Xperia Z1 photo sample appeared more clear.

P.S. We will soon be uploading the original camera resolution pics from Sony D6503 with the exif data.

As both Sony D6503 and Xperia Z1 shares same piece of hardware in rear camera, it seems except the firmware nothing is different in them. As when the firmware will be ready in final retail version on Sony D6503 we may find more better pics from it and same is expected from Xperia Z1 on android 4.4.2 KitKat 14.3.A.X.XXX firmware which Sony has already started testing.

We all know Sony D6503 Sirius now, a few days ago we saw leaked pics of Sony D6503 and then full android 4.4.2 KitKat Xperia UI of Sony D6503 was leaked by same source iRimas. Some new features like 4K Video recording and Timeshift video app were seen which are quite amazing.

Timeshift Video app in new Sony D6503 Sirius will allow users to record videos in higher fps now and then they can apply slow motion effects to it. We are expecting a new and improved camera app also from Sony in new Xperia KitKat UI.

You can see an arc which we guess will be used to adjust the slow motion effects on the video made. You can select the portion where slow motion changes are to be applied and that portion can be seen in highlighted blue color.

We are soon expecting the new Sony D6503 and Sony D6603 announcement officially at the MWC 2014 event, both devices are not expected to be the flagship devices.

We checked in a comment made by “iRimas” that DooMLoRD is working on getting some features of Sony D6503 to Xperia Z1, well hope everything goes well and we can enjoy the new 4K video recording and Timeshift Video app on Xperia Z1 before they are officially rolled on Xperia Z1 ( it is expected that some features seen in KitKat UI of Sony D6503 will be kept exclusive to it only for the time being. ).

Sony D6503 is powered by Snapdragon 800 MSM8974AB SoC which supports 4K Video recording from camera, Adreno 330 GPU and 3 GB RAM with 16 GB on board memory. It seems it supports new IPS panel from Sony and is water resistant.

Xperia Z1 vs Sony D6503 aka Sony Sirius Comparison

Xperia Z1 and Sony D6503 features same design, with some changes in the ports location and speakers.

Xperia Z1 has one speaker at the bottom side while Sony D6503 has dual speakers one at the top near notification light and one the bottom side where Xperia Z1 has in form of pin holes.

Sony D6503 is bit larger in dimensions when compared to Xperia Z1 and has bigger screen also. Xperia Z1 features 5″ 1080p display while Sony D6503 features 5.2″ 1080p display.

White Balance, Glove Mode and Smart Backlight Control settings are now included in display settings. Glove settings are already available in Xperia SP and White Balance in many handsets. Smart Backlight settings are the new one.

Smart Backlight Control Settings

Smart Backlight Control keeps the screen on while you are using your Xperia without touch operation ( eg. looking at a photo ). When you look away from the screen, it turns off according to your sleep settings. Similar feature was noticed in android 4.3 on Galaxy S4.

Double Tap Screen to Wake Up Settings

Double tap the screen to wake it up from sleep or lock.

Built-in-answering Machine included

Sony has now included a built-in-answering machine on Sony D6503 or it is UI feature, well we need to look it at that.

Two Home Launchers included

Sony has included the two-home launcher settings in Sony D6503 and now you can select your home launcher from two included.

Two options are there to choose from “Xperia Home” and “Simple Home”.

Simple Home settings include bigger fonts and is very basic in nature.

New Sound Settings

Audio Accessories option is now listed under Sound settings. At present it is not clear whether it displays the paired accessories or something else.

USB DAC support is included

Now play high resolution audio using USB DAC/DAC amp. When connected sound effects are disabled.

New Personalisation Settings included

Themes option is now changed to “Xperia Themes” which will allow you to download themes from Sony Select app.

Well we are very much impressed by Sony’s work on Sony D6503 Android 4.4.2 KitKat Xperia UI, it is simply awesome 🙂 It is speculated that same UI will be rolled on android 4.4.2 KitKat for Xperia Z1 and other Xperia Z members hopefully including Xperia SP.

It is clearly visible now that Sony is working on Android 4.4.2 KitKat now and it will be soon rolled on aforesaid devices.

Sony D6503 which is now almost confirmed that it is the so rumored Sony “Sirius” a 5.2 inch display device featuring Snapdragon 800 MSM8974AB SoC and 3 GB RAM with same 20.7 MP Cam just like Xperia Z1. It seems the refreshed version of Xperia Z1. Let’s sum up what we have found yet for Sony D6503, yesterday we saw leaked pics of Sony D6503 which confirmed the specifications and then we found the leaked pics of the new Sony D6503 UI with android 4.3. Later another device Sony D6603 was allegedly seen on AnTuTu Benchmark Database.

Till now it seems we may see Sony D6503 and Sony D6603 getting launched at MWC 2014 event. Well for now we have brought some more screenshots of the new android 4.3 17.0.A.0.228 firmware UI in Sony D6503. Earlier XDA user “iRimas” who currently have this Sony D6503 with him was not able to boot it up properly but now with the help of XDA legendary developer “DooMLoRD” he fixed it and now we should expect very soon loads of screenshots from Sony D6503 UI.

Earlier today we posted some leaked pics of Sony D6503 which is speculated as rumored Sony Sirius but nothing is confirmed yet, well leaked pics of Sony D6503 revealed that it looks very much similar to Xperia Z1 and follows the same design. Sony D6603 has also popped up on AnTuTu benchmark database where it managed to get 32996 points.

It seems the leaked pics of Sony D6503 is from the early stage prototype version as per the comments of original poster XDA user “iRimas“. He has now posted some pics of the refreshed Sony D6503 UI. Sony D6503 managed to get 29745 points on AnTuTu Benchmark.

It seems Sony D6503 and Sony D6603 are facelift vserions of Xperia Z1 rather than framing it as new Xperia Z2 as we may not see Xperia Z2 till mid 2014. Hopefully it is the device which we may see getting launched at MWC 2014

Below pics are the first images for Sony D6503 surfaced ever in a good resolution, though model name is not seen in pic but it is mentioned by tipster.

Sony branding on top, location of front cam is exact at same side like in Xperia Z1.

One full flap cover is given for the SIM card and USB port and a magnetic charging pins are seen, while in Xperia Z1 there are two separate flaps for the Micro SD card and USB port.

3 pin holes are provided at bottom part for external speakers and microphone is located on front panel’s bottom part.

On the right side profile there is a slot for Micro SD card, power button, camera shutter key and volume rocker buttons. On Xperia Z1, SIM card port is situated on right side profile.

Bigger Notification light area at top with hearing speaker expanded and on top there is 3.5 mm headphone jack and a pin hold for secondary microphone.

Sony D6503 supports same “G” lens just like Xperia Z1 but how many MP rear cam is, it is unknown, is it same 20.7 MP or 23 MP we need to figure it out yet.

After seeing the pics it seems Sony D6503 is a facelift version of Xperia Z1 and we may see it’s debut soon. Well the screen size is 5″ or 5.2″ in Sony D6503 it can’t be predicted as if it is 5.2″ then it may be the Sony Sirius and we may see it live at MWC 2014.

Sony D6503, D5303, D2105, D2005 AnTuTu Benchmark Scores Leaks – 2014 Models

A few moments ago we spotted Sony 2014 Models Sony SGP521, D2005 and D2105 spotted at Indonesian Postel and before that a few days ago Sony D6503, D5322, D5303 and D5503 were spotted at same source so in total till now 7 new Sony 2014 models have been spotted. Question arises out of them which one is high end device and which one is low end device, well that can only be told by benchmark scores for the time being. We managed to spot AnTuTu Benchmark scores of a dew devices stated above. We have already seen that Sony D5503 scored whooping 34193 points on AnTuTu, a very well competitive score against Xperia Z1.

We saw Sony D2105, Sony D2005, Sony D5303 and Sony D6503 AnTuTu benchmark scores out of which Sony D2105 and Sony D2005 seemed to be low end devices and Sony D5303 and Sony D6503 high end devices. Well let’s have a look at their benchmark scores first.

It is rumored that Sony D5303 may feature MediaTek SoC MT6592 1.7 GHz octa-core and may be the new Sony 6″ inch phablet but for now take it as rumor only.

Above points indicates Sony D6503 and D5303 would be the devices on which eyes will be on…

We hope to see a few devices from above being launched at CES 2014 or MWC2014 event from Sony. Both high end and low end devices are coming now, it would be great to see which are powered by which manufacturers SoC.
