Xperia T and Xperia V Android 4.3 9.2.A.0.276 firmware Certified

Finally a happy news for Sony Xperia T and Xperia V users who were asking again and again when android 4.3 update will come to their devices, just now we spotted PTCRB has certified Android 4.3 9.2.A.0.276 firmware for both Xperia T and Xperia V. At present Xperia T and Xperia V are on android 4.1.2 9.1.A.1.145 firmware.

9.2.A.0.276 firmware changes the build from 9.1.A.X.XXX to 9.2.A.X.XXX which clearly indicates a significant major update i.e. Android 4.3 as promised by Sony. To our surprise no android4.3 firmware is certified for Xperia TX yet on PTCRB website.

It is speculated that Xperia T, Xperia TX and Xperia V will get the same UI as which other Xperia Z family members got in their android 4.3 update recently and if it not comes then surely it would be a disappointment for the users who are eagerly waiting for it.

Xperia L 15.3.A.1.12 Firmware Update Rolling – Major Update Confirmed

Mysterious Xperia L 15.3.A.1.12 firmware which was certified by PTCRB a week ago and who open source was uploaded on Sony’s site a few days back is rolling now. At present Xperia L is on android 4.2.2 15.3.A.0.26 firmware which also saw 15.3.A.0.27 firmware getting certified but never rolled.

15.3.A.1.12 firmware keeps Xperia L C2105 and C2104 on android 4.2.2 only and is a major update, already confirmed in Malaysia, Pakistan, Germany and is available over PC Companion and SUS for now, no OTA seen yet. It is of almost 650MB in size. 15.3.A.1.12 firmware is seeding now it may not be available for all regions at the same time. No update in India seen yet.

Xperia Z1 Mini / Sony D5503 Back Panel Clear Image Surfaced Again

Just 7 days before CES 214 event another very clear image of so called Xperia Z1 Mini international edition i.e. Sony D5503 has surfaced up. As per the tipster on forum Digi-Wo it may see its launch in China on 3 Jan 2014 hopefully ( Chinese edition ). Leaked image of Xperia Z1 Mini / Sony D5503 Back Panel resembles very much to previous leaked images of Sony D5503.

Check below the leaked image of Xperia Z1 Mini / Sony D5503 Back Panel . Image clearly shows 20.7 MP Cam branding with “G” Lens, Flash in horizontal direction with camera lens as compared to Xperia Z1 where it is below camera lens and a 3.5mm heapdhone jack slightly position towards center with a Sony and Xperia branding at back panel.

Xperia Z1 Mini / Sony D5503 images have been leaked number of times in past one month. It has been spotted running Android 4.3 14.2.A.0.205 firmware and with impressive AnTuTu benchmark score of 35485.

If rumors are to be believed we may see Sony launching Xperia Z1 Mini / Sony D5503 and Xperia Z1S ( Facelift edition ) of Xperia Z1 at CES 2014 event or MWC2014.

Android 4.3 14.2.A.0.290 firmware was rolled on Xperia Z1 and Xperia Z Ulltra half a month ago which fixed the camera breaking issue on Xperia Z1 after unlocking the bootloader and brought Sony Smart camera app on Xperia Z Ultra besides some new cool Xperia Themes. Later Sony rolled android 4.3 10.4.B.0.569 firmware on Xperia Z, ZL, ZR and Tablet Z LTE version which brought exact same UI what Xperia Z1 now supports and Xperia Tablet Z Wi-Fi version was left out as usual.

Just now Sony has started rolling Android 4.3 10.4.B.0.577 firmware update on Xperia Tablet Z Wi-Fi SGP311/SGP312 version and is available in regions like India, UK, Australia , Indonesia, Nordic regions, US, Malaysia. Android 4.3 10.4.B.0.577 firmware update is available over PC Companion and SUS, no OTA rolled out yet. It’s a hefty 792 MB update.

First Xperia Z1 L39t 4G Android 4.2.2 14.1.M.0.184 firmware update Rolling

Xperia Z1 L39t LTE released on China Mobile 4G for 4499 Yuan / 740$ 10 days back with android 4.2.2 14.1.M.0.177 firmware out of the box. Although Sony released android 4.3 14.2.A.0.290 firmware for Xperia Z1 and Xperia Z Ultra more than a week ago a new major bug fixing 14.2.A.1.114 has been certified and here Sony has rolled Android 4.2.2 14.1.M.0.184 firmware update on Xperia Z1 L39t version.

Android 4.2.2 14.1.M.0.184 firmware is the first minor update rolled on this carrier based 4G version of Xperia Z1 in China which brings nothing except some bus fixing and optimization over current firmware. 14.1.M.0.184 firmware is available over PC Companion for China Mobile 4G users.

It is still not know what exactly this 14.1.M.0.184 firmware update has brought, all changes are expected under the hood.

No official info from Sony has come on fact whether android 4.3 will be rolled on this carrier based device, if you have already updated do let us know what changes you noticed.

A few moment ago we posted that PTCRB has certified Xperia SP Android 4.3 12.1.A.0.253 firmware officially now and just now a tipster sent us an alleged screenshot from the Xperia SP android 4.3 12.1.A.0.252 firmware. 12.1.A.0.252 firmware is just point number short of official 12.1.A.0.253 firmware certified.

Nothing can be said yet whether the screenshot is real or a fake one as 12.1.A.0.253 firmware is about to comes as Android 4.3 on Xperia SP very soon and this leaked screenshot must be from previous builds in testing, if it is legit it must be from test build from previous firmware.

Sony BT Wrist Notifier SWR10 Spotted on FCC – New SmartWatch ?

It seems Sony is preparing hard for the show at CES 2014 as just now we spotted Sony BT Wrist Notifier SWR10 on FCC which passed its BlueTooth usage certifications besides NFC is also spotted on the device. Is it a successor of Sony’s second generation SmartWatch SW2 ? Well time will tell that, hard to say anything right now.

A new code name has been used this SWR10 as previously used were SW and SW2. Well nothing much has been revealed by documents on FCC regarding Sony BT Wrist Notifier SWR10. At present software version used on it is V3.4 dated 23 December 2013. It may be the new Sony SmartWatch but looking at specifications listed in FCC document it is very odd to think like that now.

Sony 2014 Models Sony D2004, D2303 AnTuTu Benchmark Scores Leaks

Yesterday we posted that new Sony 2014 Models viz. Sony SGP521, D2005 and D2105 spotted at Indonesian Postel and Sony D6503, D5303, D2105 and D2005 AnTuTu Benchmark Scores leaked well that totals the telly of new 7 Sony 2014 models being seen in a few days gap on Indonesian Postel.

Well till now we have seen Sony D2004, Sony D2105 ( successor of Xperia L C2105 ) Sony D5322, Sony D5303, Sony D5503 ( aka Xperia Z1 Mini global version codenamed as “Xperia Amami” ), Sony D6503 and Sony SGP521 ( successor of LTE Xperia Tablet Z SSP321 ). Just now we spotted two new Sony 2014 models Sony D2004 and Sony D2303 on AnTuTu Benchmark database.

Sony D2004 scores 12633 points and Sony S2303 scores 17853 points on AnTuTu benchmark scale. No sign of them on Indonesian Postel yet.

Yesterday we saw Sony D2005 scoring 12790 points and same range points is scored by Sony D2004 which clearly indicates that they are part of same series Sony D20XX and one being the LTE version and other being HSPA+ version hopefully, both low-end devices.

Sony D2303 seems to be all new series and a mid-end device.

Unexpectedly Xperia L was recently updated to android 4.2.2 15.3.A.0.26 firmware in October end and in December we saw once again 15.3.A.0.27 firmware appearing on PTCRB certification program which never rolled out till day yet. Just now another new 15.3.A.1.12 firmware build has been certified on PTCRB website.

15.3.A.1.12 build moves from 15.3.A.0.XX build which means a huge update is going to strike on Xperia L very soon. Though as per our us it seems still android 4.2.2 update as Sony has already mentioned the devices which will be getting android 4.3 so there is few chances that it will come as android 4.3.

15.3.A.1.12 firmware should hit Xperia L users soon by the end of this year or hopefully in first week of Jan 2014. Till now it should be taken as android 4.2.2 update only, it is not expected that android 4.3 will roll on Xperia L in any case.

Now as per Sony’s post Xperia SP, T, TX and V are left behind with android 4.3 update which will receive directly from android 4.1.2 update.

Just now we spotted Android 4.3 12.1.A.0.253 firmware certified for Xperia SP C5302, C5303 and C5306 on PTCRb website. As per the date of certification it should come by the end of year 2013 or in early starting of year 2014 hopefully. Check the certification of Android 4.3 12.1.A.0.253 firmware.

Sony D6503, D5303, D2105, D2005 AnTuTu Benchmark Scores Leaks – 2014 Models

A few moments ago we spotted Sony 2014 Models Sony SGP521, D2005 and D2105 spotted at Indonesian Postel and before that a few days ago Sony D6503, D5322, D5303 and D5503 were spotted at same source so in total till now 7 new Sony 2014 models have been spotted. Question arises out of them which one is high end device and which one is low end device, well that can only be told by benchmark scores for the time being. We managed to spot AnTuTu Benchmark scores of a dew devices stated above. We have already seen that Sony D5503 scored whooping 34193 points on AnTuTu, a very well competitive score against Xperia Z1.

We saw Sony D2105, Sony D2005, Sony D5303 and Sony D6503 AnTuTu benchmark scores out of which Sony D2105 and Sony D2005 seemed to be low end devices and Sony D5303 and Sony D6503 high end devices. Well let’s have a look at their benchmark scores first.

Sony D2105 goes well with Xperia L C2105 ( year 2013 model ) which scored 9-10k points on AnTuTu benchmark.

Sony D2005 scored 12790 points on AnTuTu Benchmark

After seeing AnTuTu Benchmark scores of Sony D2105 and Sony D2005 it is clear fact that they are low end devices, well are they powered with Snapdragon SoC or MediaTel SoC is now known yet.

Sony D5303 scored 30145 points on AnTuTu Benchmark

It is rumored that Sony D5303 may feature MediaTek SoC MT6592 1.7 GHz octa-core and may be the new Sony 6″ inch phablet but for now take it as rumor only.

Sony D6503 scored 29745 points on AnTuTu Benchmark

Above points indicates Sony D6503 and D5303 would be the devices on which eyes will be on…

We hope to see a few devices from above being launched at CES 2014 or MWC2014 event from Sony. Both high end and low end devices are coming now, it would be great to see which are powered by which manufacturers SoC.

Sony 2014 Models Sony SGP521,D2005,D2105 spotted at Indonesian Postel

A few days back we saw a bit info regarding Sony’s 2014 models viz. Sony D6503, D5322, D5303 and D5503 on Indonesian Postel website. Sony D5503 is considered as the global version of Xperia Z1 f ( released in Japan only for the time being ). Just now we spotted a few more Sony 2014 models listed on same legitimate Indonesian Postel source.

New Sony 2014 Models Sony SGP521, D2005 and D2105 are spotted at Indonesian Postel website exclusively besides Sony D6503, D5322, D5303 and D5503. Sony SGP521 seems to be the new Sony tablet for year 2014. It is being seen many times that Sony is developing a Wi-Fi version of Xperia Z Ultra so is is that ? Well let it be the question for later.

Sony D2105 from above list goes well with year 2013 model Xperia L C2105 version. So is the the successor of Xperia L ? Nothing can be clearly said on that also. Sony SPG521 goes well with year 2013 Xperia Tablet Z SPG321.

Above listed new Sony 2014 models clearly states that many new models are cooking up in Sony’s camp now. Sony has already mentioned that they are having a press conference on 6 Jan 2014 at CES 2014, hope to see some new models either at CEs 2014 or MWC2014 event.

Set conversation wallpaper in SMS on Android 4.3 in Xperia Z1, Z Ultra

Sony recently rolled Android 4.3 14.2.A.0.290 firmware on Xperia Z1 and Xperia Z Ultra and many new features introduced like “Xperia Themes” and Sony Smart Camera app on Xperia Z Ultra. Till now it has the smoothest UI in the firmware rolled by Sony. We listed “one hand keyboard” settings but missed one hidden features of keyboard app in Android 4.3 14.2.A.0.290 firmware on Xperia Z1 and Xperia Z Ultra.

Sony has added an extra feature in keyboard app to set conversation wallpaper in SMS, well let’s see how you can set the wallpaper. Good thing is that you can set different wallpaper for different contacts now unlike “Whatsapp” where you can set same wallpaper for every contact.

Open any message in your inbox.
Tap on menu settings, click on “set conversation wallpaper”.

Choose wallpaper and set it.

Xperia Z1, Z Ultra 14.2.A.1.XXX firmware bug fixing update coming soon

Sony finally rolled out much awaited android 4.3 14.2.A.0.290 firmware update on both Xperia Z1 and Z Ultra, though it’s a nice update with some cool “Xperia Themes”, smooth UI and improved camera functionality still users are facing many bugs on it. Xperia Z1 and Z Ultra users are reporting to us many bugs which we will discuss in this post later. First let me answer your question, is the next update for Xperia Z1 and Z Ultra due soon ? Yes it is.

Just now we found that android 4.3 14.2.A.1.XXX firmware update will soon hit Xperia Z1 and Z Ultra as a big fixing update over previous android 4.3 14.2.A.0.290 firmware update. At present 14.2.A.1.XXX firmware is in testing, most likely to come very soon but we can’t 100% confirm that the same build will be rolled out, it may happen that a higher build to 14.2.A.1.XXX firmware will be rolled out ( if something changes during testing ).

Xperia Z1 and Z Ultra Android 4.3 14.2.A.0.290 firmware Update Rolling Officially – Bootloader Camera Bug Fixed on Xperia Z1

Let’s talk about bugs faced by many users in Xperia Z1 and Z Ultra android 4.3 14.2.A.0.290 firmware update.

Many users are getting this error when you navigate to “Sound enhancements -> Settings”, it shows “Unfortunately, Sound enhancements has stopped.”
Battery backup on standby mode has decreased a lot now.
RAM consumption has increased after this update.
For some importing contacts have become an issue.
Yellow hue issue still present, though UI of new themes are more white but on stock themes it is still yellowish.
Noise in camera pics have reduced but it is still present.
Touchscreen issues, screen is not responding well on Xperia Z1, it seems a hardware issue though who knows a software update may fix it 😛

Factory resetting has fixed some bugs not all.

Another thing it was mentioned Sony Support official staff member that an update is due in Jan 2014 for Xperia Z1 where we will see the “White Balance app” settings finally.

Though a solution for yellow hue issue is available temporary, you can install White Balance app on your rooted Xperia Z1 and Z Ultra devices.

How to Install White Balance App on Xperia Z1 to remove Yellow Hue

Android 4.3 14.2.A.0.290 firmware update has landed on Xperia Z1 finally yesterday which fixed the camera breaking bootloader issue and brought new Xperia themes and smooth UI. Besides that yellow hue issue is still present on Xperia Z1 for many users and they are complaining again that Sony still not calibrated the display for better whites. Is it a hardware issue or software issue, debate still continues while one stock Sony app “White Balance” can get rid of it which was seen in Xperia Z first. It is strange that Sony has neglected keeping this app on Xperia Z1, don’t know why. Well till now no one came up with any port of installing white balance app on Xperia Z1 but now it has come finally 🙂

XDA dev “RyokoN” has ported white balance app from NTT DoCoMo Xperia Z1 (SO-01F) on Xperia Z1.

How to Install White Balance app on Xperia Z1 ?

You need Rooted and Recovery installed on Xperia Z1. ( It don’t work on non-rooted phones )
Download Z1_White_Balance.zip
Flash above zip file in recovery.

It’s done now 🙂 Now adjust the white balance settings according to your level of yellow hue on Xperia Z1 screen.

A good news came, Sony Xperia support staff member Rickard says that “White Balance settings in Xperia Z1 is planned for an update due in January 2014“. When we asked him which update he is referring to Android 4.3 or Android 4.4 ? He refused to answer on this issue.

Recently XDA devs leaked android 4.3 10.4.B.0.569 firmware build for Xperia Z and Xperia ZL which was speculated that it is the final build and should come soon. Yesterday Sony rolled out android 4.3 14.2.A.0.290 firmware update for Xperia Z1 and Z Ultra officially which fixed many issues for both phones and Sony posted on their blog that further android 4.3 update rolling for other devices gonna follow.

Today PTCRB has certified Android 4.3 10.4.B.0.569 firmware for Xperia Z, Xperia ZL, Xperia ZR and Tablet Z. All 4 Xperia devices will get the same Android 4.3 10.4.B.0.569 build very soon. It should come in any moment now on all Xperia Z variants C6602, C6603, C6606, Xperia ZL variants C6502, C6503, C6506, Xperia ZR C5502, C5503 and Xperia Tablet Z LTE SGP321 version though it may not roll out at the same moment on each device.
