Sony Album app has got a new update in the form of 7.2.A.0.6 version over older 7.2.A.0.4 version. Album 7.2.A.0.6 app update changes recent app color to yellow and brings new full-screen actionlayer (single tap on the image in full screen to show it).
Album 7.2.A.0.4 update brought new tool bar at the bottom of pictures now and the same is available now too along with usual bug fixing and performance enhancement. Update is not available over Play Store yet.

Xperia Z4 Compact to be launched on 13 May for NTT DoCoMo in Japan?
Rumors are there that Xperia Z4 Compact SO-04G will be launched in Japan on 13 May at NTT DoCoMo summer model 2015 product launch event. As per the details, NTT DoCoMo is also likely to announce recently launched Xperia Z4 SO-03G and Xperia Z4 Tablet SO-05G also.
NTT DoCoMo has scheduled an event on 13 May where its summer models will be unveiled such as Fujitsu ARROWS series and new LG smartphones along with Sony Xperia models.

A few days back an alleged pic from NTT DoCoMo schedule was leaked showing Xperia Z4 Compact‘s model name for Japan. As seen from the screenshot posted below, Xperia Z4 has been assigned SO-03G/SOV31 model number for NTT DoCoMo model.

If Xperia Z4 Compact is really going to be launched on 13 May then we can expect Xperia Z4 Compact to feature the same specifications like Xperia Z4 (Check full specifications of Xperia Z4 here) either with a 4.6″ screen or 4.7″ screen display. Sony used 4.6″ display on

Sony Notes app has got an update in the form of 1.0.A.5.10 version over older 1.0.4.A.1 version. Sony introduced Note app a lot ago but then removed the app (or we say it disappeared). Sony Notes app is a simple notepad app where you can write some text but you can’t add pictures.

Xperia C4, C4 Dual launched with 5MP front cam, 5.5″ display and Octa-core 64 bit MediaTek CPU
Sony Mobile launched the next selfie smartphone and a successor to Xperia C3 in the form of Xperia C4 today. Xperia C4 is launched in two variants i.e. one with single SIM (Sony E5303, E5353, E5306) and a dual SIM model (Sony E5333, E5343, E5363).
Xperia C4 features Android Lollipop out of the box, 5.5″ 1080p FHD screen IPS display (401 PPI and Sony BRAVIA Engine 2 for mobile and super vivid mode) powered by 1.7 GHz Octa-core cortex-A53 MediaTek MT6752 processor (64 bit) , Mali-T760MP2 GPU backed by 2 GB RAM and 16 GB internal storage. Xperia C4 is 150.3 x 77.4 x 7.9 mm in dimensions, weighing 147 grams and a 2600 mAh battery.

New Android 5.0.2 Lollipop bug fixing 23.1.A.1.28 firmware update has now hit Xperia Z3 Compact also. Sony earlier mentioned that a new bug fixing Lollipop firmware is rolling for Xperia “Z3” and Xperia “Z2” series. Xperia Z2 got the update first yesterday.
23.1.A.1.28 firmware update is confirmed rolling on Xperia Z3 Compact D5803 in Algeria, Denmark, Norway, Saudi Arabia, Nordic regions and soon will be up globally; not spotted on D5833 yet.

A new AR Effect Theme Unity-chan Wony-Buster has been released on Play Store from a third party developer. AR Effect app allows you to customize your captured pics and videos with installed themed characters. App and Theme needs android 4.3+ to work on your Xperia device.
As mentioned by the dev “Control the bombs that spouting out from player’s mouth, and make hit to “Wony” which coming up from the bottom of screen in a limited time. Special bomb will work in case player can’t catch up “Wony” or to buster “Mega-Wony”.

Sony says Xperia Z Lollipop update will start rolling out by next week
Sony Philippines twitter team recently tweeted saying that Android 5.0.2 Lollipop update for Xperia Z will start rolling out by next week. It seems Xperia Z, Xperia ZL, Xperia ZR and Xperia Tablet Z will get the Lollipop update at the same time.
Sony has not mentioned its plan for rolling Lollipop update for other Xperia handsets like Xperia T3, Xperia E3, Xperia M2, Xperia M2 Aqua etc. so Sony may come up with roll out plan once they are done with Xperia “Z” series.
Sony has already teased a pic of Xperia Z running Android Lollipop officially.
In mid-April, an alleged screenshot running Android 5.0.2 Lollipop 10.6.A.0.xx.xxx firmware on Xperia Z was leaked (remember though screenshot came from reputed XDA user gbil and as per him “Ultra STAMINA Mode is present in Lollipop update for Xperia Z”, it still can be faked easily).

Sony has released a promotional Xperia Mad Max theme on Play Store today. Mad Max: Fury Road 2015 is the fourth film of Miller’s Mad Max franchise. It is set for its world premiere on 14 May at the 68th Cannes Film Festival and is set for theatrical release on 15 May 2015.
Xperia Mad Max Theme is compatible with Xperia devices running Android 4.4+ (both rooted as well as non-rooted Xperia devices). Earlier today Xperia Z4 Aqua Green Style Cover theme was also released.

Sony about to release bootloaders allowing booting from the recovery partition
A good news has come for developers working on building custom ROMs and recoveries for Sony Xperia devices, it is expected that Sony Mobile is about to release bootloaders allowing booting from the recovery partition. Earlier there was an issue with the Xperia devices that could not be booted from recovery.
As reported by FXP team, Sony Xperia devices with cortex-A7 processors viz. Xperia T2 Ultra, Xperia T3, Xperia E3 and Xperia M2 are the first ones to receive these bootloaders from Sony, more devices to follow up soon as officially Sony has not released a statement on it yet.
How this works?
The bootloaders are live now and can be installed on above mentioned Xperia devices.
Note: This is for bootloader unlocked devices only!
Download Sony’s official FlashTool. Install it. Run it.
Switch off your device, hold volume down key and plug in USB cable into your PC. Green LED will display and your device will be recognized by FlashTool and bootloader upgrade with “Open Devices” name will be available
Once the new bootloader is installed on your device, you are good to go.
It is really a good news for developers working on Xperia devices.

Xperia Z4 Style Cover Window theme is actually a wallpaper application allowing you to set wallpapers from the personalized option in the settings menu.
Three official Xperia Z4 wallpapers are posted below, save them as a regular image in your device and set them as your wallpaper. Wallpapers have resolution 2879×2559.

Sony launches Xperia Z4 SCR30 Style Cover Window Themes
Earlier today Sony Mobile launched Style Cover Window themes exclusively for Xperia Z4 which was recently launched in Japan. Sony has already launched Style Cover Window Theme (SCR24) for Xperia Z3 on Play Store and now the same for Xperia Z4 is available for download.
Xperia Z4 SCR30 Style Cover Window Themes are available in White, Black & Copper color with the new Xperia wallpapers. Sony SCR30 style cover is a window case for Xperia Z4 only where you can perform number of tasks without opening the flap of cover through the window pane.

Sony TrackID 4.1.A.3.3 app update rolling
Sony TrackID app has got a new update in the form of 4.1.A.3.3 version over older 4.1.B.3.2 version. Other than usual bug fixing and performance enhancement, it follows the old changelog like previous version; material design UI, faster recognition speed and support for Android Wear and Sony SmartBand Talk SWR30 (Sony SmartBand Talk SWR30 app has also got a new update in form of 4.0.0.56 version).
Android 4.2+ is needed to install the app. App helps to identify the music track playing around you just like Shazam app, obviously you need your device connected to internet.

23.1.A.1.28 firmware moves the current build from 23.1.A.0.xxx to 23.1.A.1.xx. It seems to be a major bug fixing update, whether Android 5.0.2 or Android 5.1 Lollipop, it can’t be said for the time being.

Sony World Photography Awards winners were announced yesterday by Sony on their blog and today to celebrate the event they have released Xperia SWPA Theme officially on Play Store. Xperia SWPA Theme is compatible with Xperia handsets running Android 4.4+.
Though Xperia SWPA theme looks nice on Android 5.0 Lollipop running Xperia handsets but theme needs more polishing to make it even better. The Color of status bar and the settings bar don’t match.
As you can see in the screenshots, Xperia SWPA theme uses white navigations icons so if you are calling someone the whole navigation bar becomes white and nothing is visible (a bug, certainly).

Sony Xperia Music 9.0.0.A.2.0beta app update rolling
Sony has now put its Walkman app on Play Store (8.5.A.3.3 version) whereas Xperia Music app beta version is available for download which will replace Sony Walkman app in future. Today Sony Xperia Music app has been updated to newer 9.0.0.A.2.0beta version over older 9.0.0.A.1.2beta version.

It has only been a few days for Xperia Z4 to mark its appearance in Japan officially and now rumors for Xperia Z4 Compact has started floating around. Yesterday some new Xperia models i.e. Sony E5803, Sony E5633, Sony E6683, Sony E6833 got certified at Indonesian Postel site, two of them have been assumed as Xperia Z4 Compact and Xperia Z4 Ultra.
Today an alleged screenshot from NTT DoCoMo’s summer lineup document revealed that Xperia Z4 Compact might be coming to Japan soon with model number SO-04G.

As seen from the screenshot, Xperia Z4 has been assigned SO-03G/SOV31 model number for NTT DoCoMo model.

Xperia Z4 aka Sony E6533 marked its appearance yesterday and today a few more Sony Xperia models spotted at Indonesian Postel. Sony E5803, Sony E5633, Sony E6683, Sony E6833 got certified today at Indonesian Postel site.
Sony E5803 goes in sync with Xperia Z3 Compact (Sony D5803/Sony D5833) whereas Sony E6683 goes in sync with Xperia Z Ultra (Sony C6833). This could mean that we might be looking at Xperia Z4 Compact or Xperia Z4 Ultra or some other completely different Xperia series.
