Sony’s latest bids to dominate modern gaming

Although Apple’s latest iPhone has created many headlines in the tech world, it’s Sony who could enjoy a spectacular remainder of 2016. This is because Sony have not only updated their groundbreaking PlayStation 4 device, but they’ve also sought to improve the way that we interact with the modern gaming world thanks to the stunning new Xperia XZ mobile and the fascinating PlayStation VR headset.

Such moves signal the all-encompassing way in which Sony seek to place themselves in the ever-changing tech domain, which suggests that although smartphones are in the ascendancy, there are still many different ways that consumers wish to keep themselves entertained.

A moment ago Xperia X Compact picture was leaked online (front panel) and now Xperia XZ and Xperia X Comapct names have been spotted on Sony’s Czech website.

By looking at the screenshot leaked, Xperia XZ is tagged under “Photography” and Xperia X Compact under “Pictures without Blur”. Both phones are expected to be launched at Sony’s IFA 2016 press conference.

Xperia X Compact Picture Leaked ahead of Sony’s IFA 2016 conference

Sony’s IFA 2016 press conference is just a week away and ahead of it in the fresh leaks, Xperia X Compact picture has appeared. Apart from the front panel pic of Xperia X Compact nothing is revealed for the time being.

Recently we saw pics of Sony F833X getting leaked which might feature a 5.2″ display with dual LED flash and a USB Type-C Port. It is still unclear whether both are same devices.

A new update for Sony Album app rolled today in the form of 7.9.A.0.6 version over the older 7.9.A.0.4 version. Sony’s new Album app update is only compatible with Android 4.2+ running Xperia devices.

New update brings minor bugs fixing and peformance enhancement changes only. In the earlier update we saw that now you can only browse and download content in PlayMemories Online.

Google released Android 7.0 Nougat update for public on Nexus devices and now it is rolling globally. For the time being only following news devices will be soon getting the update notification viz. Nexus 6, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, Nexus 9, Nexus Player, Pixel C and General Mobile 4G (Android One).

Both OTA and Factory images zip files are now available for download from Google officially. If you flash the OTA zip file then your device will get be updated to Android 7.0 without wiping any data but while flashing factory images, a full wipe is done (fresh installation).

Android 7.0 Nougat is now officially live for Nexus devices and Sony has officially released its update plan now. New features like multi-window view, over 1500 emoji, multi locale language settings, quick switch between apps, Doze (battery saver feature along with new data saver feature), custom quick settings, notification direct reply, bundled notifications, display size, seamless updates, file-based encryption, direct boot, etc. will come on the devices getting update.

Android 7.0 Nougat update will land on following Xperia devices officially viz. Xperia Z3+, Xperia Z4 Tablet, Xperia Z5, Xperia Z5 Compact, Xperia Z5 Premium, Xperia X, Xperia XA, Xperia XA Ultra and Xperia X Performance.

How to Get Android 7.0 Nougat NRD90M build on Nexus 6P via Android beta programme

Google pushed Android 7.0 Nougat update officially yesterday for Nexus devices. Nexus 6, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, Nexus 9, Nexus Player, Pixel C and General Mobile 4G (Android One) will be soon receiving the OTA update notification for Android 7.0 Nougat update.

All those users whose devices are/were enrolled in Google’s Android Beta Programme will also get final release of Android 7.0 Nougat update.

Get Android 7.0 Nougat update on Nexus 6P via Android beta programme

Step:1 Enroll your Nexus 6P to Android beta programme, Click here.

Step2: Once you are succesfully enrolled, go to settings > about phone > system update > Check for new update. You will get a notification as shown below (instant notification).

Step3: Click on Download to get Android 7.0 Nougat update on your Nexus 6P.

We tried above mentioned steps on our Nexus 6P running Android 6.0.1 MTC20F firmware build (stable public release) and successfully got final stable version of Android 7.0 Nougat update NRD90M build.

NOTE:

Un-enrolling after updating your device (from Android Beta Programme) to Android 7.0 Nougat update NRD90M build, “will not wipe any data” from your device or rolling back to Android Marhsmallow. We did trying un-enrolling from the beta programme and it worked.

We will soon post the OTA zip files/factory images for manual flashing on your Nexus devices.

In the midst of all rumours floating around new Nexus devices Sailfish and Marlin (not confirmed for the time being) and Android 7 launch (in August) , here comes the leaked Nexus Launcher from Android 7 exclusively, which is supposed to be from the new Nexus 2016 device.

Installable apk file for the new Nexus Launcher is now floating all over the internet once it got leaked. It is now available for non-rooted devices also. New Android 7 Nexus Launcher got some cool features like swiping up from the bottom of screen to get the app drawer, sliding from the left of screen to launch Google Now.

Sony Software App 3.2.0.B.0.11 version update rolled

A new 3.2.0.B.0.11 version update is available for Sony Software update app over the older 3.2.0.A.0.10 version. Update brings usual bugs fixing and performance enhancement.

This app in integration with Sony’s Whats New app now updates software in the Xperia smartphones. This app can’t be used standalone app now.
