Sony SmartWatch 2 has got a new minor bug fixing update in form of 1.0.B.4.154/1.0.A.4.11 firmware. A few days back we saw major 1.0.B.4.152/1.0.A.4.11 firmware update rolling which brought changes like customisable watch faces, wallpapers, calculators; improved Facebook and Gmail apps, notification drawer, Bluetooth connect/disconnect vibration settings.

Many SmartWatch 2 users were complaining regarding poor touch response and new 1.0.B.4.154/1.0.A.4.11 firmware update seems fixing the issue along with better tap 2 wake up functionality. Bluetooth connection pairing is also stable on new 1.0.B.4.154/1.0.A.4.11 firmware on SmartWatch 2. SmartWatch 2 SW2 app on Google Play Store has also been updated.

Sony has confirmed the news of new 1.0.B.4.152/1.0.A.4.11 firmware update for its SmartWatch2 on its official blog which brings many new features like customisable watch faces, wallpapers, calculators; improved Facebook and Gmail apps, notification drawer, Bluetooth connect/disconnect vibration settings.

Sony SmartWatch 2 1.0.B.4.152/1.0.A.4.11 firmware update is confirmed across European regions like UK, Sweden etc. Previous firmware on Sony SmartWatch 2 was  1.0.B.3.46/1.0.A.3.8. SmartWatch 2 SW2 app on Google Play Store has also been updated with new UI.

Sony ties up with Vueling to bring wearable boarding pass on SmartWatch 2

A few days back Sony confirmed that Garmin Xperia Edition will be coming to SmartWatch 2 which will offer a new innovative way of navigation which includes onboard maps, lane guidance, speed warnings, traffic, social media integration etc. Just now Sony Mobile has confirmed with a blog post that they Sony is bringing world’s first wearable boarding pass with Vueling on Sony SmartWatch2.

Now forget your boarding card, just wear SmartWatch 2 and all information regarding flight and boarding pass will be carried on your wrist without any hustle, it’s just simple. A 2D bar code figure will be used to carry the desired boarding information. Sony has hinted that a new app from Sony and Vueling will come to Google Play Store at the end of March which will be used to get the boarding pass info on your SmartWatch 2.

Concept of wearable boarding pass is cool; if someone looses his boarding card all info is carried on his wrist with an extra level of security. Below you can see a snapshot of how Sony and Vueling app will look like.

Sony SmartWatch 2 with Silver steel wristband priced at £169 in UK, €199 in France, Germany, Italy

Sony officially launched SmartWatch 2 SW2 with black silicon wristband priced at £149.99 in UK and a stand alone Strap SE20 which is available in 7 customized colors at £20.99 in UK. Sony has added officially another wristband edition i.e. Sony SmartWatch 2 with Silver steel wristband; another FIFA edition wristband of SmartWatch 2 is soon expected as FIFA World Cup 2014 dates come near.

Sony SmartWatch 2 with Silver steel wristband has been priced officially  in UK at £169, €199 in France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, 649 zł in Poland ( €154 ), 1799 kr in Sweden ( €204 ). It is priced most expensive in Sweden for the time being and is available in stock at Sony Online Stores in European regions.

It looks firmware update season has come for Sony devices as this winter in December many Xperia devices will be getting android 4.3 update and yesterday we saw Xperia UL SOL22 getting Android 4.2.2 10.3.1.D.0.220 firmware update and now Sony has started rolling 1.0.B.3.46/1.0.A.3.8 Firmware for Sony SmartWatch 2 ( SW2 ), a major update it is which has brought many changes this time.

As per Sony’s statement, update has brought more stability for firmware, rest all features are under the hood. So if you own SmartWatch 2 then go for this update it has brought many features this time.

Main Features of update

  • New Watch faces, now you get a digital clock with date.
  • Adjustable Back Light i.e. adapt to lightning conditions option is there now.
  • Stop Watch app
  • Larger fonts now.
  • Expanded Bluetooth and vibration menu.
  • Notifications can now be deleted with one swipe now.
