4 major features viz. Processor, Display, GPU and RAM are the crucial deciding factors while buying a gaming gadget.

Processor

Powerful processor helps in smooth transition of game on the device you are playing. For computers, powerful processors from Intel like i7-6850K, i5-7600K, i3-7100 and from AMD like Ryzen 7 1700 are among the best multi-core processor available.

For smartphones Qualcomm’s latest MSM8998 Snapdragon 835 chipset was recently spotted in smartphones like Samsung Galaxy S8, Xperia XZ Premium; is a powerful chipset ideal for gaming. Though all Snapdragon 8XX processors are equally efficient for gaming.

It is always preferred to buy CPU in which there is extra RAM slots. Smartphone nowadays features RAM ranging from 3-6GB which is sufficient to play almost all games.
