Xperia M2 Aqua 18.3.1.C.0.21 firmware Android 4.4.4 KitKat rolling

A few days back Sony unexpectedly rolled android 4.4.4 firmware update for Xperia M2 ( D2303 and D2306 ) and now the same 18.3.1.C.0.21 firmware is also rolling for Xperia M2 Aqua D2403. 18.3.1.C.0.21 firmware is rolling via PC Companion and is confirmed in regions like Malaysia, Russia, Indonesia, Thailand.

Audio delay bug is fixed on 18.3.1.C.0.21 firmware update. Android 4.4.4 update is not seen on Xperia M2 Dual yet thought its open source archive build has already been released by Sony.

Xperia M2 18.3.1.C.0.21 firmware Android 4.4.4 KitKat rolling

Unexpectedly Sony has officially rolled out android 4.4.4 KitKat update for Xperia M2 today, making it the only Xperia handset with android 4.4.4 version after whole Xperia “Z” series. 18.3.1.C.0.21 firmware update is confirmed in regions like Russia, Germany and US.

18.3.1.C.0.21 firmware update is rolling via PC Companion only for the time being, confirmed for Xperia M2 D2306 and D2303 variants. Android 4.4.4 update is not seen rolling for Xperia M2 Aqua and Dual, though it has already been certified.

Xperia M2 Aqua & Dual 18.3.1.C.0.21 firmware open source build released by Sony – Is it android 4.4.3 or 4.4.4 ?

Sony has released an unidentified 18.3.1.C.0.21 firmware open source build for Xperia M2 Aqua & Dual for developers which may bring android 4.4.3 or android 4.4.4. At present Sony has updated whole Xperia “Z” series on android 4.4.4 version while Xperia T2 Ultra & Dual is on android 4.4.3.

It seems that 18.3.1.C.0.21 firmware will bring android 4.4.3 on Xperia M2, if this build is android 4.4.4 then it will be a great surprise for the users but it is least expected for the time being.

Kindly keep in mind that open source build is not firmware ftf so it can’t be flashed on your device in any case.

We are hoping Sony will soon release 18.3.1.C.0.21 firmware update for Xperia M2. One of the special feature of android 4.4.3 on Xperia T2 Ultra was “transfer data to SD card”, we can expect the same for Xperia M2 also.
