Xperia Z2 and Xperia Z2 Tablet have seen till now 3 firmwares getting certified on PTCRB viz. 17.1.A.0.504 firmware, 17.1.A.0.391 firmware and 17.1.A.1.2 firmware. We have seen system dump of 17.1.A.0.289 firmware of Xperia Z2 getting leaked and a few days back 17.1.A.1.2 firmware ftf was also leaked. Just now a new higher build in form of 17.1.A.2.36 firmware is spotted on PTCRB.
17.1.A.2.36 firmware has been certified for both Xperia Z2 and Xperia Z2 Tablet on PTCRB for all variants which are listed so far. Sony unveiled the new KitKat firmware on Xperia Z2 and Xperia Z2 Tablet at MWC 2014 and it will come out of the box when these 2 devices launches officially in April 2014.

It is clearly visible that Sony is working on Android 4.4.2 KitKat firmware for Xperia Z2 and Xperia Z2 Tablet and hope users get a bug free firmware.
Many new features like 4K Video cam app, Timeshift Video app, Smart Call Handling, Smart BackLight Control, Answering Machine, Simple Home launcher have been spotted in the KitKat firmware of Xperia Z2 and Xperia Z2 Tablet. As soon as we get more info on KitKat firmware roll out schedule of Sony for other phones, we will let you know.
