IIM Bangalore PGP 2015-17 Admission system review

IIM Bangalore is one the top coveted MBA Colleges in India and Asia-Pacific regions at present for MBA programs in different fields like Finance, Marketing, HR etc. IIM B was founded in 1973 following the steps of IIM Ahmedabad and IIM Calcutta. IIM B operates as an autonomous central institution under the Ministry of Human Resource and Development, Government of India.

IIM B’s Chairperson is Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, Director – Devanath Tirupati and Dean – Sushil Vachani. IIM BIIM B campus is spread over 100 acres and total student strength is approx 1000. IIM B offers the following programs : Post-Graduate Programme in Management (PGP), Post Graduate Programme in Enterprise Management (PGPEM), Fellow Programme in Management (FPM), Executive Post Graduate Programme in Management (EPGP), Post Graduate Programme in Public Policy Management (PGPPM), Post Graduate Programme in Aerospace and Aviation Management.

Just like any other IIM in India, IIM B also awards diploma to its students rather than a degree in above mentioned programs.

Admissions to all PGP programs in IIM’s in India is done through Common Admission Test commonly known as CAT. All those who have given CAT 2014 exam will be eligible to take part in admission process of IIM B. For the first stage of shortlisting after the CAT results are announced, one need to score above the below mentioned cut off in the CAT ( Keep in mind those who will be called for interview their %iles might be higher then mentioned below )

Going through above mentioned shortlisting criteria, other details of candidates like marks Class X, XII, Graduation scores or any other professional program are considered. Working Experience is given a special weightage if a candidate has. After the following shortlisting candidates are called for interview and the final admission is granted on the basis of commutative scores scored by the candidate in various areas.
