Xperia M2 18.3.1.A.1.9, M2 Dual 18.3.1.B.1.10 firmware certified

Xperia M2 and Xperia M2 Dual have got new firmware certified at PTCRB after a long time. 18.3.1.A.1.9 firmware is certified for Xperia M2 and 18.3.1.B.1.10 firmware is certified for Xperia M2 Dual. Looking at the firmware build, both firmware seems to be Android 4.4.4 KitKat, minor bug fixing update only.

Sony has not disclosed its plan for rolling Android Lollipop update for Xperia M2 and Xperia M2 Dual yet, so far Android 5.0.2 Lollipop update is available only for Xperia Z1 series, Z Ultra, Z2 & Z3 series and for Xperia T2 Ultra and Xperia C3, it was released a few days back only.

Xperia E3 LTE 18.5.C.0.19 firmware rolling – Android 4.4.4 KitKat update

Xperia E3 LTE variants D2203 & D2206 (not released for D2243 yet) are getting new Android 4.4.4 KitKat update in the form of 18.5.C.0.19 firmware over Android 4.4.2 update (18.4.C.2.14 firmware). HSPA+ variants of Xperia E3 are already on Android 4.4.4 KitKat version.

18.5.C.0.19 firmware update is confirmed in Nordic regions, UK (other European regions also). It is only available via PC Companion for the time being, no OTA seen yet. Now every variant of Xperia E3 is running Android 4.4.4 KitKat.

A few days back Sony unexpectedly rolled android 4.4.4 firmware update for Xperia M2 ( D2303 and D2306 ) and now the same 18.3.1.C.0.21 firmware is also rolling for Xperia M2 Aqua D2403. 18.3.1.C.0.21 firmware is rolling via PC Companion and is confirmed in regions like Malaysia, Russia, Indonesia, Thailand.

Audio delay bug is fixed on 18.3.1.C.0.21 firmware update. Android 4.4.4 update is not seen on Xperia M2 Dual yet thought its open source archive build has already been released by Sony.

It seems that now Sony is rolling 23.0.1.A.3.9 firmware update for Xperia Z2 carrier handsets ( Android 4.4.4 update ).

Xperia Z2 23.0.1.A.3.9 firmware is confirmed rolling for O2 carrier in Germany. We are not expecting this firmware to hit regular Xperia Z2 series variants in any case.

Android 4.4.4 KitKat is now officially rolling on Xperia Z and Xperia ZL as mentioned by Sony today on Twitter. Sony first rolled Android 4.4.4 update on Xperia Z1 and Xperia Z Ultra and now the older Xperia “Z” series handsets Xperia Z, ZL, ZR and Tablet Z have joined the list. Xperia T2 Ultra KitKat 19.1.A.0.474 firmware certified

A few days back Sony certified KitKat build 19.1.A.0.473 firmware for Xperia T2 Ultra and 19.1.C.0.116 firmware for Xperia T2 Ultra Dual on PTCRB. A moment ago we spotted a minor higher build 19.1.A.0.474 firmware getting certified for Xperia T2 Ultra on PTCRB while none is seen for Dual variant for phone.

Sony has already promised to roll KitKat on Xperia T2 Ultra and Dual, so seeing the firmware build certifications the update might be on horizon of release. At present Xperia T2 Ultra is on android 4.3 update.

Xperia Z1, Z Ultra 14.4.A.0.108 firmware Android 4.4.4 Update rolling

Earlier today Sony rolled android 4.4.4 update for Xperia Z1 Compact in form of 14.4.A.0.108 firmware and now the same Android 4.4.4 14.4.A.0.108 firmware is rolling on Xperia Z1 and Xperia Z Ultra. Sony has officially confirmed android 4.4.4 roll out for Xperia Z1 and Z Ultra and their product page respectively.

14.4.A.0.108 firmware brings Android 4.4.4 for Xperia Z1 and Z Ultra confirmed in regions like France, Turkey, UAE and Russia. Android 4.4.4 is a minor update from Google as well as from Sony over Android 4.4.2 KitKat update, it brings mainly security enhancement fixes. It is around 995 MB update.

Xperia Z1s 14.4.B.0.20 firmware Android 4.4.4 KitKat certified ?

Today Sony rolled android 4.4.4 KitKat update in form of 14.4.A.0.108 firmware for Xperia Z1 Compact and same firmware has been certified for Xperia Z1 and Xperia Z Ultra. Sony Xperia Z1s is still on Android 4.3 when it was launched at CES 2014 and now a new firmware 14.4.B.0.20 firmware has been certified for it on PTCRB.

14.4.B.0.20 firmware has same naming convention like 14.4.X.X.XX for Xperia Z1, Z Ultra and Z1 C Android 4.4.4 KitKat so probably it is the new KitKat firmware update for Xperia Z1s T-Mobile US. At present Xperia Z1s is on android 4.3 14.3.D.0.183 firmware. This will be major update for Xperia Z1s users.
