Sony has finally rolled the very delayed android 4.4.4 update for Xperia Z2 and Xperia Z2 Tablet in form of 23.0.1.A.0.167 firmware. Sony has update the same on their blog with a detailed changelog. Xperia Z2 and Xperia Z2 Tablet got the exclusive Xperia Z3 feature of PS4 Remote Play and DUALSHOCK 4 Wireless controller connectivity compatibility.

- DSEE HX technology added in Walkman app.
- Option to specifically select optimized sound settings for different headsets.
- New Camera app with inbuilt apps like AR Fun, Multi Camera, Face In, Sound Photo.
- ULTRA Stamina Moda ( upgraded version of Stamina Mode ) added.
- New Quick settings options added like – Smart Screen Rotation which analyzes itself the way the screen should be rotated when you change the position of the way you hold your device.
- Screen Recording option added in the power menu to record the content of the screen.
- Compatibility with Android Smart Wear – Bluetooth Unlock feature via SmartWear.
NOTE : Many Xperia Z2 users are reporting an error while downloading the 23.0.1.A.0.167 firmware update “There is no software available for your device” , “Sony Update Engine doesn’t have software available for your device”.
We are still looking into the resolution of the problem, it seems Sony’s server is overloaded for the time being, so kindly try to update after a while ( No need to download the file again ).
We will update the changelog once the update starts rolling globally. 23.0.1.A.0.167 firmware ftf will be available very soon, stay tuned.

Hi, I have exp Z2, and i see this update available in my update center, I am trying to update through PC, but it says-
No software available for your device.
Detail: sony update engine does not have update available for your device.
Rohit, the same error message at my pc for updating the Z2 Tab.

Sony PC Companion tells me my Xperia Z2 is upto date, though it's not. It's not showing any update available.

yes on carrier you will get update a bit later.
after the 4.4.4 update for the z2 the phone looks good over all but the issues are many.
1 freezes bad at times
2 vibrate on touch doesn't work all of a sudden
3 battery discharge
Signal drop (terrible Issue )
i am totally disappointed after seeing this update and just waiting for the bug fixes now.... for people who haven't updated their phone please wait for a while or don't update
True Aditya...also the phone is heating very badly during voice calls...and the icon are damn big for viewing...just feels like getting rid of it. Hope Sony fixes this issue soon. Regretting for getting the update.
Xperia z2 just had 4.4.4 update, absolutely shocking, Hate it hate it hate it, feel like I just been given a primary school kids toy, big icons, irritating clock with different font size. If I can't get rid of update I'll get rid of phone, cannot describe my hatred and anger at this latest update. Sort it out.!!!
