Xperia Z3 Frame Bent Issue appeared like Xperia Z1, SP

Once hyped iPhone 6 bend gate has already settled and now it seems the issue is popping up on Sony Xperia Z3. Recently we posted that a few users of Xperia Z3 are facing self cracking issue in their handset and now a T-Mobile Xperia Z3 users has posted pics of bent frame of his handset. Similar kind of frame bent issue was earlier spotted on Xperia Z1 and Xperia SP.

T-Mobile Xperia Z3 user dhaliwal925 posted a few pics of his bent Xperia Z3 on XDA. User claims his phone has not been dropped and neither he put his phone in back pocket or in ultra tight fitting jeans though he uses “arm band” and it may have caused his Xperia Z3 to develop this issue. He further adds “The armband couldn’t have been too tight otherwise I would have no blood flow to my arm, and if it was near my elbow no movement.”

Xperia Z3 Frame Bent

Let’s have a look at Xperia Z3 Frame bent pics.

What do we think ?

Before jumping to any conclusion, have a look at the below issues earlier spotted.

Xperia Z2 self cracking screen issue spotted like Xperia Z, Z1 had

Xperia Z1 Self cracking screen issue seen exactly like Xperia Z had

Xperia Z1 Screen and Body bent appears – User’s fault or Hardware issue ?

Xperia SP Frame Bent Issue appeared like Xperia Z1 – Poor Build Quality or User’s Fault ?

Xperia Z3 Self cracking screen issue appears – One of the first case spotted with a Hairline crack

NOTE : We have not seen many users reporting Xperia Z3 Frame bent issue neither at XDA nor at Sony Talk Forums. As it is one of the FIRST CASE that has been reported so nothing can be said at the moment whether it is manufacturing defect or user’s fault.

We sincerely hope that this bent frame issue doesn’t pick up pace for Xperia Z3 like it did for Xperia Z1.

  • The same happened with my Z3 on t mobile on Friday. I haven't dropped it or anything, it was in my pocket and next thing I know the back is cracked. I'm going to try and send it in to Sony to see what they say.

  • Wonder where these people get their Z3 from. Thing is, in the issue of Z1, I have dropped it several times and the frame has not bent the screen has never cracked(Even my Xperia Z suffered no major damages being thrown 1 meter or more.) if left in the pocket, it depends which pocket you put it in. At any time, I always have my phones in my front pocket. But then again, I have a friend who left his Z1 in a locker which is in a fairly cool room and came back having the screen cracked. Anyways, I think Sony has to crank up their QA so as to ensure consumer satisfaction (which to me should translate into better sales in the future).
    Peace haters!

A Sony die hard since 2012.

  • It's obvious that those people put their cellphone in their pockets.

And they sit on it or something that makes the phone blend then say that is sony's false!!!!

  • I have come to understand why these phones bend..and its caused by overheating
When it heats up you put alil pressure it bends
I reversed the process of my bent xperia z1
These phones are thin and big..
Tendencies of bending is just high
From tight pants to over usuage causing heat

  • Mine has bent as will, the opposite side to the power button has a little give in the plastic and has bent. Regardless of who's fault it is the phone should be capable of being put in a pocket. Especially with the cost of the handsets.

  • Mines bent too. Never dropped, don't use a back pocket ever. Always in front pocket of baggy jeans. Opposite side of power button only.

I am gutted. I love my new Z3 since my move from iPhone.

I use a casemate tough case to protect my handset.

I'm too old to wear skinny jeans and I never carry my phone in my back pocket, there's been no misuse, no drops or accidents, yet my phone has mysteriously developed a bend down one side.

I've heard a little about overheating being a potential cause and I did experience my phone overheating whilst using the camera app on holiday but never noticed any warping until my daughter pointed it out to me (I thought she was winding me up!).

I'm arranging to have the handset shipped to Sony for evaluation but I'm worried about how they'll view this re the warranty.

Anyone else heard of this issue? Any advice would be welcome also.

    Regards.

I couldn't attach photos but here's a link to my same post on a different forum - http://forums.androidcentral.com/sony-xperia-z3/467065-xperia-z3-bent.html#post4091603
