Sony has rolled a minor bug fixing update for Xperia Z3 in form of 23.0.A.2.105 firmware which is now available for download in European regions. It is confirmed in UK region, as spotted on D6603. No significant changes spotted overall.

23.0.A.2.105 firmware keeps Xperia Z3 on Android 4.4.4 version ( which came out of the box also ). Update is only available via PC Companion, you can’t use SUS anymore as Sony has official stopped the service.

Xperia Z3 Dismantled – Disassembly Teardown showed internal parts

Sony’s latest flagship Xperia Z3 internal parts are exposed in its first teardown. Xperia Z3 is IP 65/68 rated which makes it the best water resistant phone by Sony till now. Sony has modified the Xperia Z3 design as compared to Xperia Z2 but the teardown process is almost similar just like it was for Xperia Z1 and Xperia Z2.

How to Root Xperia Z3, Z3 Compact – Install CWM recovery

Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z3 Compact has just been out in market and it has not been a very long since users got their hands on it and both devices have achieved root and CWM recovery is now available for installation. Demerit of present method of rooting is that bootloader needs to be unlocked otherwise it can’t be done.

Xperia Z3 D6XX and Xperia Z3 Compact D58XX are compatible with the below posted method. Keep in mind that unlocking bootloader will void your device’s warranty so proceed at your own risk. Camera is working after unlocking bootloader so no issues about it.

How to Root Xperia Z3

To root Xperia Z3 you must be on stock android 4.4.4 23.0.A.2.93 firmware , unlocked bootloader, working fastboot. Remember adb is not working in recovery for the time being. To unlock bootloader visit here.

You need to flash the kernel ( Download Z3_DooMLoRD_AdvStkKernel_v01_FW-93.img ) first. Detailed Steps mentioned by XDA dev DooMLoRD here.

To enter in recovery when Sony logo comes and LED light turns pink/amber/orange keep on pressing Volume Up button.

After you are done with flashing kernel, now let’ see how to root Xperia Z3. Follow these steps to root your Xperia Z3.

How to Root Xperia Z3 Compact

To root Xperia Z3 Compact you must be on stock android 4.4.4 23.0.A.2.105 firmware , unlocked bootloader, working fastboot. You will get CWM recovery 6.0.4.7.

You need to flash the kernel ( Download Z3c_DooMLoRD_AdvStkKernel_v01_FW-105.img ) first. Detailed Steps mentioned by XDA dev DooMLoRD here.

One you are done with flashing kernel, now to root your Xperia Z3 Compact follow these steps.

Sony India sending Xperia Z3 Launch Press Invites – Event on 25 Sept 2.15 PM at New Delhi

Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z3 Compact are finally coming to India as Sony India has started sending press invites for the launch of their latest Xperia flagship series in India on Thursday, September 25, 2014, at 2:15 p.m, New Delhi.

Mr. Kenichiro Hibi, Managing Director, Sony India, will address the press conference just like the last time he did when Xperia Z2 was launched. It is believed that for the time being only Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z3 Compact will be unveiled and Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact and Sony SmartWatch 3 will come later at the end of this year.

Sony launched Xperia E3 and Xperia E3 Dual in India today for Rs 11990 / $197 and Rs 12990 / $214 respectively and next week flagship Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z3 Compact is coming to India precisely on 19 September when the unveiling will be done in New Delhi and from 20 September it will be put on sale.

Sony has updated the small apps framework on Xperia Z3 with some new small apps versions. Sony Small apps can be used anytime and anywhere on screen. You can use more than one small app at a time and simultaneously can see the main screen also.

To install new Xperia Z3 smalls apps, you need rooted Xperia handset with custom recovery installed and will only work on android 4.4 deodexed KitKat ROM. It may or not work properly on Android 4.2 or 4.3 running devices.

Xperia Z3 system dump is out now and so many ports like Xperia Z3 experience flow wallpapers, Xperia Z3 Live wallpaper, Xperia Z3 Home launcher, Xperia Z3 System Media apps have been out for rooted Xperia users while no port cam for non rooted users till yesterday. We just noticed that a few Xperia Z3 apps have been ported for NON ROOTED Xperia users also now.

NON ROOTED Xperia users can now install Xperia Z3 live wallpaper, Xperia Z3 Home, Xperia Z3 media apps like Album, Walkman, Movies. Xperia Z3 Calendar and calculator have also been ported.

We have already shared official Xperia Z3 experience flow wallpapers and new Xperia Z3 Live Wallpaper 2.0.A.0.14 version and now we are sharing more Xperia Z3 system media apps.

Sony has tweaked its Xperia Home launcher in Xperia Z3 and now it looks much similar to Google Now launcher. Xperia Z3 Home 7.0.A.0.14 launcher is available for rooted Xperia handsets only for the time being.
