Android Lollipop 5.0.2 update for T-Mobile Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z1s users in USA is very near now as T-Mobile has officially confirmed that the Lollipop update is in testing process now, at this stage device will undergo T-Mobile certification process.

A few days we back we saw Android 5.0.2 Lollipop 23.1.C.0.385 & 23.1.C.0.381 firmware getting certified for Xperia Z3 D6616 and for Xperia Z1s C6916 14.5.B.0.228, 14.5.B.0.220, and 14.5.B.0.236 firmware got certified on PTCRB.

A new Android 5.0.2 Lollipop 14.5.B.0.228 firmware has been certified for T-Mobile Xperia Z1s C6916 handset at PTCRB over older 14.5.B.0.220 firmware which was certified in April starting. A few days back Sony rolled Android 5.0.2 14.5.A.0.242 firmware update on global variant of Xperia Z1.

14.5.B.0.228 firmware will move Xperia Z1s to Android 5.0.2 from Android 4.4.4 KitKat 14.4.B.0.56 firmware. No ETA is there when the update will be rolled on the carrier handset in USA.

Sony has finally rolled much awaited Android 4.4.4 KitKat update on T-Mobile Xperia Z1s C6916 for US users in form of 14.4.B.0.37 firmware via PC Companion. Xperia Z1s was launched at CES 2014 event with android 4.3 out of the box. Sony has not updated the latest build on its product page yet.

14.4.B.0.37 firmware brings features like new Xperia home launcher, new Xperia themes, customized Xperia Keyboard, transparent navigation and status bar, white status bar icons, new Sony Media apps, new bootanimation, more responsive touch screen and features like answering machine in call settings. Compatibility with Sony SmartBand SWR10 is also there now.

At present Xperia Z1s is still on android 4.3 Jelly Bean since its launch at CES 2014 in Jan.

Sony has already updated Xperia “Z” series to KitKat where Xperia Z1 and Xperia Z Ultra are on android 4.4.4 KitKat version. We are still wondering why Sony is so slow with carrier updates. We saw Xperia Z on T-Mobile got its major update after a very long wait.

Today Sony rolled android 4.4.4 KitKat update in form of 14.4.A.0.108 firmware for Xperia Z1 Compact and same firmware has been certified for Xperia Z1 and Xperia Z Ultra. Sony Xperia Z1s is still on Android 4.3 when it was launched at CES 2014 and now a new firmware 14.4.B.0.20 firmware has been certified for it on PTCRB.

14.4.B.0.20 firmware has same naming convention like 14.4.X.X.XX for Xperia Z1, Z Ultra and Z1 C Android 4.4.4 KitKat so probably it is the new KitKat firmware update for Xperia Z1s T-Mobile US. At present Xperia Z1s is on android 4.3 14.3.D.0.183 firmware. This will be major update for Xperia Z1s users.

T-Mobile USA Xperia Z1S Bootloader unlock not allowed

Sony launched the Xperia Z1S, LTE version for T-Mobile USA at CES 2014 event; which appears exactly like Xperia Z1 if we ignore some minor changes. Sony introduced first time “Xperia Background defocus camera app” for the first time in a Xperia handset and Xperia Z1S got it first exclusively. Well being launched on a carrier, speculation arises that whether its bootloader can be unlocked or not.

We can now confirm that T-Mobile USA Xperia Z1S C6916 Bootloader unlock not allowed. Recently Xperia C users were frustrated when they found this issue on their device and now it’s turn for Xperia Z1S.

Xperia Z1S Bootloader Unlock Not Allowed

Dial *#*#7378423#*#* > Service Info > Configuration and check what is written under “Bootloader Unlock Allowed”, it is “NO” and this ends ROM development for Xperia Z1 based on other kernels except of Sony’s firmware.

Xperia Z1S users are now complaining regarding this to T-Mobile officials that they should roll out some update to make bootloader unlock possible but that’s not gonna happen for sometime or ever we think. It was the same case with Xperia Z also.

Xperia Z1S features the same specifications just like global version of Xperia Z1 except some minor changes like it has 32 GB internal storage and some changes in location of ports on phone. Xperia Z1S runs android 4.3 out of the box with new Sony background defocus camera app exclusively.

Xperia Z1S will be available in USA on T-Mobile carrier only. Xperia Z1S is priced at $528 as full retail price and $0 down payment with a choice of $22 per month for next 24 months i.e. 2 years exclusively, on ordering any package you need to add $10 for SIM starter kit.

While ordering Xperia Z1S on T-Mobile USA you will get $100 Visa gift card from Sony as a promotional offer. At present you can only buy Xperia Z1S online from T-Mobile and after 22 Jan, it will be available exclusively in T-Mobile stores.

Just a few hours before Sony’s official press conference at CES 2014 at 6 Jan, 5 PM Las Vegas; T-Mobile USA Xperia Z1s pic and specs have been leaked by trusted “evleaks”. It is rumored that Sony is about to announce global Xperia Z1 Mini version ( just like Xperia Z1F in Japan ) as Sony D5503 and Xperia Z1s at CES. But after this leak from evleaks it seems that Xperia Z1s is the name of mini version of Xperia Z1 in USA, Is it ?

A lot ago we saw evleaks leaking a pic of Xperia Z1s front panel which is exactly similar to the pic leaked today. Twitter handle of “evleaks” has just tweeted briefly the specifications and a pic of Xperia Z1s which they claim as the Xperia Z1 Mini with a 4.3 inch 720p screen.

Sony D5503, Xperia Z1S, Xperia Z1 C6916 AnTuTu Benchmark Scores Leaks

Recently we saw Sony D5503 speculated as international version of Xperia Z1 F SO-02F passing through FCC which confirmed officially it’s codename as Xperia Amami and running android 4.3 14.2.A.0.144 firmware. While the exact model name of this device is still a mystery. Some call it Xperia Z1S but now it seems Xperia Z1S and Sony D5503 are tow different devices as seen from the images.

Sony’s press conference at CES 2014 is scheduled on 6 Jan 2014 and at that time it is expected that Sony may officially launch Xperia Z1S ( Facelift version of Xperia Z1 ) and Sony D5503 ( aka Xperia Z1 Mini, global version ), in the midst of it just now alleged AnTuTu benchmark scores of both devices have been leaked somehow.

Sony D5503 / Xperia Z1 Mini scores 34193 Points on AnTuTu Benchmark

34193 Points benchmark of Sony D5503 / Xperia Z1 Mini clearly shows that device is a powerhouse, most probably with specification as what Xperia Z1 F SO-02F features; Snapdragon 800 SoC.

Xperia Z1S ( Facelift of Xperia Z1 ) scores 35485 Points on AnTuTu Benchmark

Xperia Z1S is expected as a facelift version of Xperia Z1, when seen in leaked images location of ports and headphone jack was different and even phone was much taller than Xperia Z1. It scores 35485 points on AnTuTu benchmark clearly stating Snapdragon 800 SoC and similar specks like Xperia Z1.

Just now we ran AnTuTu Benchmark on our Xperia Z1 C6902, and it scored a whooping 36257 points, so all three devices have their AnTuTu Benchmark points around same range and there is not point of saying that Xperia Z1 lags.

Xperia Z1 C6916 ( Speculated as LTE Xperia Z1 US Version ) scores 34256 Points on AnTuTu Benchmark

While going through AnTuTu Benchmark results, we came across a device Xperia C6916, which is speculated as Xperia Z1 LTE US version. Check AnTuTu Benchmark result of Xperia C6916 below.

It seems that now launch of Sony D5503 and Xperia Z1S is not very far, we may see one or both devices getting launched at CES 2014.

Xperia Z1S L39t Images sufaced at China’s TENAA – Network License Passed

As what happened with Xperia Z1 / L39h ( Honami ) whose images surfaced at China’s TENAA before it’s official release, same has happened with very much rumored Xperia Z1S now. Long time ago EvLeaks posted a pic of Xperia Z1S on their twitter page which was very similar to Xperia Z1 but position of ports and the headphone jack was different which they branded as “Xperia Z1S” and whose listing was also seen at Sony Mobile’s product page for a moment has again marked it’s presence on a very reliable platform this time.

W just spotted that Xperia Z1S L39t model’s network license has been passed by Telecommunication Equipment Certification Center MIIT China, spotted at TENAA which is taken as Chinese FCC. As per the info Xperia Z1S L39t supports TD-LTE/TD-SCDMA/GSM formats, OS – Android and support for LTE FDD / WCDMA network capacity and Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan in the international roaming.

[ UPDATE ] It seems L39t is Chinese LTE Version of Xperia Z1 and the same may come as Z1S ( model number not confirmed yet ) as LTE version in US as C6916.

In below pic of Xperia Z1S L39t, you can clearly see the position of headphone jack is at different location as when compared to Xperia Z1 and the side ports too. Location of front cam is at opposite side.

Right Side pose of Xperia Z1S L39t – Only one port is present on the side of magnetic charging slot while in Xperia Z1 there are two – Micro SD card slot and USB Port.

Left Side pose of Xperia Z1S L39t – This side is similar to Xperia Z1 except the ports location again.

Above images of Xperia Z1S L39t are exactly similar to what EvLeaks leaked, sparking the rumors to the name Xperia Z1S even more this time. Check the pic of Xperia Z1S leaked by EvLeaks and you will see how similar they are. We have also heard that Xperia Z1 Mini ( aka Sony D5503 ) may not be called as Xperia Z1S.

At this time we can’t be sure that which model is Xperia L39t exactly is but it seems it is Xperia Z1S and soon we may see it officially. It is also in rumors that it may launch on 16 December but that is 100% rumor so far. It seems Xperia Z1S is a facelift of Xperia Z1. Xperia Z1S rumored to be priced at 3600 Yuan i.e. 590$ – Seen Beside White and Purple Xperia Z1 Again

More and more Xperia Z1S images are allegedly leaking daily and from the same source all the time i.e. Digi-Wo, this time the same Digi-Wo user who previously leaked picture of Xperia Z1S on top of Xperia Z1 and speculated that it may not be called as Xperia Z1S has again leaked 3 set of Xperia Z1S pics two of them are along with Xperia Z1 sharing the same surrounding as it was in previously leaked pics.

In the first set of pic you can clearly see the Xperia Z1S calling app’s dialing pad interface, which is expected to run android 4.3 jelly bean as seen in previous leaked pic where model Sony D5503 ( rumored to be Xperia Z1S ) featured android 4.3 14.2.A.0.205 firmware.

In other two pics Xperia Z1S is seen with Xperia Z1 ( purple and white in color ). In one pic you can see Xperia Z1 standing beside Xperia Z1S where you can compare the size of both phones. An interesting annotation on pic reads that Xperia Z1S may be priced at 3600 Yuan which is approx. equal to 590$ and may be available in first quarter of year 2014.

In the third pic, Xperia Z1S is seen with white Xperia Z1 and annotation on pic reads that it will also feature the same Sony’s G Lens as Xperia Z1 supports.

Yesterday Sony D5503 was spotted at Indonesian Postel website, confirming the model number and its existence. A lot many rumors have piled up now over the features of Xperia Z1S from Digi-Wo tipsters where one states that Xperia Z1S may feature IPS Display and one stated that it may not be called as Xperia Z1S.

God knows how many we will see more now, well let’s hope soon Xperia Z1S ( hopefully this is the name ) marks its global international release and Sony get’s its first mini phone globally ( as Xperia Z1F is limited to Japan only ). What do you think guys over the rumored price range of Xperia Z1S.

Xperia Z1S / Sony D5503 Model spotted at Indonesian Postel website

Rumors have caught more fire now, this time Sony D5503 model which is speculated as Xperia Z1S aka Xperia Z1 Mini ( international version of Xperia Z1 and sibling of Xperia Z1F ) has marked its presence on a legit Indonesian Postel website ( FCC equivalent of Indonesia ). It is well-known for outing the names of many Sony Mobile’s new models like Sony C6833 and C6802 appeared in past.

It’s not the first time we have heard of Sony D5503, it was first spotted with its camera picture sample then real pics of Sony D5503 were leaked from all angles confirming the model number and android 4.3 running as 14.2.A.0.205 firmware build.

As you can see it is latest updated on 20 November i.e. today, so it definitely proves the existence of Sony D5503 somewhat officially this time but the global model number has not been confirmed yet. As recently we spotted pic of Xperia Z1S on top of Xperia Z1 with an annotation which reads that it may not be called as Xperia Z1S. Lately on Sony Mobile global product page listing of Xperia Z1S was spotted but it was taken soon which confuses again about the branding Xperia Z1S.

Another rumor has sparked which says that Sony D5503 along with Xperia Taichi ( Tianchi ) may be launched on Nov 22 in an event in Shanghai, consider it as 100% rumor now.

Xperia Amami / Sony D5503 to be called as Xperia Z1S, doubt prevails ?

Just after a day when we saw Xperia Z1S photo snapped beside with Xperia Z1 from a Digi-Wo user, a new speculation has come up whether Sony D5503 will be called as Xperia Z1S or not. The moment when Xperia Z1F saw it’s release in Japan, rumors started about the existence of Xperia Z1S, international version of Xperia Z1F.

A new user on Digi-Wo has posted a fresh pic of Xperia Z1S snapped on top of Xperia Z1, comparing their size but the annotations reads “It is called Xperia Amami right, DoCoMo version Xperia Z1F as SO-02F right, but not Z1S for now“.

Rumor says Chinese version of Xperia Z1S will come as Sony M55H. Check the pic below yourself of Xperia Z1S on top of Xperia Z1. How we can say the below handset is not Xperia Z1F, well look at this another pic of Xperia Z1S with Xperia Z1, it shares some surroundings of spoon, fork and table cloth as it is.

If it is considered to be true that Sony D5503 is not named as Xperia Z1S then what it is ? What about the recent spotting of Xperia Z1S being listed on Sony Mobile official website for a moment…

Are all these a user’s speculation ? A lot ago we saw EvLeaks leaking a pic of Xperia Z1 mini version, naming it as Xperia Z1S. Well nothing more than that has come up for the existence of Xperia Z1S yet.

Xperia Z1S Amami display compared to Xperia Z1’s – To use IPS Display ?

The latest rumored sensation from Sony Mobile, Xperia Z1S aka Xperia Amami or Sony D5503 is seen again, this time along with elder sibling Xperia Z1. Xperia Z1S Amami photographed besides Xperia Z1 showing the display comparison of both phones. With a first look you can say that display on Xperia Z1S looks a little less bright than Xperia Z1 but what if the brightness level is low on Xperia Z1S than Xperia Z1, we don’t know that yet.

User at Digi-Wo who posted this pic says that Xperia Z1S may use IPS Display ? What Sony using IPS display for their next flagship device and ditching TFT panels, that’s kind of Wow..!!! Well it certainly is a rumor or you can say the concerned tipster’s speculation regarding IPS display don’t take it seriously for now. As Xperia Z1F uses same display as Xperia Z1’s so IPS is least expected so far on Xperia Z1S also.

A day ago we saw Xperia Z1S real images leaked running Android 4.3 14.2.A.0.205 firmware, confirming Sony D5503 Model Number and on old UI just like android 4.2.2 in Xperia Z1. This new leak has created more sensation this time regarding display screen build.

Would you like Sony to use IPS display this time as they been using TFT panels from a long time, many Xperia Z1 users are complaining about poor display calibration on it as Yellow hue issue, so it would be better if Sony comes out this time with a great display screen.

Xperia Z1S real images leaked running Android 4.3 14.2.A.0.205 firmware – Sony D5503 Model Number Confirmed

A few days ago a pic was snapped stating that Sony Mobile is taking strict measure to stop the leaks of it’s flagship devices before their official launch as it happened with the Xperia Z1, whose whole specifications, pictures and official press document was leaked a few hours before it’s official launch. It has happened again, this time Xperia Z1S real images leaked running android 4.3 14.2.A.0.205 firmware, yesterday we posted an update that firmware 14.2.A.0.25 runs android 4.3 and here it comes. Recently we spotted Sony by mistake putting Xperia Z1S listing on Sony Mobile Global products page which also sparked the rumors of its existence.

Model number Sony D5503 has ben confirmed with this leak. Xperia Z1S is the international release of it’s sibling Xperia Z1F ( aka Xperia Z1 Mini ) which was recently released in Japan on NTT DoCoMo carrier, the then users wanted to come it as a global version also and here it comes now to rock.

Xperia Z1S leaked images confirmed the 720p HD 4.3″ screen running android 4.3 14.2.A.0.205 firmware, 16 GB internal storage and 2 GB RAM. Unfortunately same old UI as of android 4.2.2 on Xperia Z1 is spotted also on Xperia Z1S. Chinese version of Xperia Z1S will come as Sony M55H.

You can see the front cam is located at extreme right corner and notification light at top, huge bezels at bottom just like Xperia Z1.

Xperia Z1S dimensions seems similar to Xperia Z1F as 127mm x 64.9mm x 9.4mm.

Android 4.3 14.2.A.0.205 firmware spotted on Xperia Z1S has no major changes as per UI is concerned which can be seen from below images of the interface.

Home launcher on Xperia Z1S seems very much similar to Xperia Home version 6.1.A.0.5 which was recently posted by us for Xperia Z1, Z Ultra users.

Above Xperia Z1S images clearly shows that now Xperia Z1S is not a rumor, the existence of Sony Xperia Z1S D5503 is proved 🙂 Well next big thing to keep an eye on is the price of Xperia Z1S, well as it packs super high specs of Xperia Z1, it won’t be cheap. It is rumored to be launched next year only during CES 2014 may be.

Xperia Z1S Expected to come as Sony D5503 as HQ Image Sample Leaks

Today some rumors have been put aside for Xperia Z1S, that it was expected to be launched in some Shanghai Press Event of Sony, November 12 but nothing happened, a fake rumor has been put aside again. Don’t loose hope on Xperia Z1S as a new rumor has come up now. It is rumored that Xperia Z1S expected to come as Sony D5503 next year.

Yes you saw right, Sony D5503, it seems Sony has shifted to a new series now for the flagship devices launching in year 2014. It is rumored that D5xxx will be used for mid range devices and D6xxx for high end devices next year and Sony may follow the scheming as “C” for year 2013, “D” for year 2014 and “E” for 2015, afterall it is just a speculation till now, no official word on it so far. As per sources, Sony D5503 can be the international version of Xperia Z1F which was recently launched in Japan under NTT DoCoMo. Yesterday we saw Sony Mobile unintentionally putting up the listing of Xperia Z1S on their global products page and then later on removing it in an hour.

Let’s what we have for you now as far as mysterious device Sony D5503 is concerned. A high quality images sample has been leaked which is allegedly taken by Sony D5503 ( expected to be Xperia Z1S ).
