Xperia J1 Compact launched in Japan with Snapdragon 800 & 4.3″ 720p display

Sony has launched a new Xperia smartphone exclusively for Japanese market i.e. Xperia J1 Compact (Model Number – D5788). In terms of specifications, it is very similar to Xperia Z1 Compact launched globally. It features 4.3″ 720p display, 2.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor, GPU Adreno 330, 2 GB RAM, 16 GB internal storage.

Striking feature of Xperia J1 Compact is that it is unlocked already so can be used with any carrier. It also features 20.7 MP rear cam (G Lens), 2300 mAh embedded battery, IP68 certification and 128 × 65 ×  9.7 mm in dimensions weighing 138 grams.

Xperia J1 Compact comes with Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box though Sony launched Xperia M4 Aqua and Xperia Z4 Tablet with Android 5.0.2 Lollipop at MWC 2015.

Xperia J1 Compact pre-orders will start by 27 March 2015 and is expected to be available by 20 April 2015. Xperia J1 Compact is expected to be available at price 55,000 yen/$456 (excluding taxes).

Pricing of Xperia J1 Compact seems very reasonable if we compare it to the price of Xperia Z1 Compact initially when it was launched (at higher price.) Xperia J1 Compact is nothing but an affordable compact device with good specifications.
