Sony Music app has got a new 9.1.9.A.0.2 version update over the older Music 9.1.9.A.1.0 beta version (and stable 9.1.8.A.0.0 version). New update improves genre support in the music library (UI fixes, manually edit genre for track) as per the changelog posted on Play Store.

New update also features new option of fetching embedded art from files manually (limited file type support) to improve image quality and a fix for fingerprinting flac files throwing “File type is not supported” toast. Update also brings usual bugs fixing and performance enhancement.

Sony Mobile has finally renamed their Walkman app officially to “Xperia Music” now and it is live on Play Store now for downloading. In Music app 9.0.0.A.2.0beta version, Sony explained why they are changing the name to Xperia Music and today it went official.

Sony has now put its Walkman app on Play Store (8.5.A.3.3 version) whereas Xperia Music app beta version is available for download which will replace Sony Walkman app in future. Today Sony Xperia Music app has been updated to newer 9.0.0.A.2.0beta version over older 9.0.0.A.1.2beta version.

Xperia Music 9.0.0.A.2.0beta app update brings new full player, play queue option added in menu drawer, new context menu icon, widget stays in the notification after pause (swipe to dismiss in Android 5.0 Lollipop).

Sony Walkman 8.5.A.3.2 update rolling – View songs on your Android Wear device

Sony Walkman app has got a new update in form of 8.5.A.3.2 version over old 8.5.A.2.10 version. In new Walkman 8.5.A.3.2 update, you can now on your Android Wear device view songs in synchronized playlist and start playback from any song in the playlist, as the changelog reads.

Walkman 8.5.A.3.2 update also brings usual bug fixing and performance enhancement. App still reads “Walkman” though we saw on Android 5.0.2 it reads as “music”.
