A few days back we posted that Sony Charging Plate WCH10 was certified at FCC and now its official, Sony has announced two new wireless charging accessories i.e. Wireless Charging Cover WCR12 and Charging Plate WCH10. Xperia Z2 in original don’t support wireless charging but with the help of above mentioned wireless products you can now charge your Xperia Z2 wirelessly with the help of inductive Qi technology which allows power to transform from a transmission pad to a compatible receiver using EMI.

Pricing of Sony Wireless Charging Cover WCR12 and Charging Plate WCH10 is not declared yet but both products were seen at online retailer Clove a lot time back before they were officially announced. Wireless Charging Cover WCR12 is launched in black and white color while Charging Plate WCH10 only in black.

Wireless Charging Cover WCR12 looks a lot similar to Sony Style Cover SCR10 in design and looks  ( made of premium PU leather ). It can be used as a desk stand also when not used for charging, compatible with any Qi charging plate. Dimensions are 149 x 78 x 14 mm ( with Xperia Z2 inside ), 66 grams in weight.

Charging Plate WCH10 produced 5W power to charge Xperia Z2 via Electromagnetic Induction. It is to be connected to a AC adapter as power source to charge the device.

When connected, white pulsating LED shows charging in process and solid white light indicates charging complete.
