Pixel 2 XL March 2019 security update Build PQ2A.190305.002 rolling

Google has started rolling March 2019 security update (OTA) for Pixel devices. Factory images for March 2019 security update have also been posted for manual flashing/sideloading by Google. This update fixes critical bugs and improves the performance and stability of your device.

We have received the March 2019 security update on our Google Pixel 2 XL, Build – PQ2A.190305.002 (Previous Build – PQ2A.190205.002), Android 9.0.0 version via OTA. Update size is 60.6 MB.

Go to Settings > Systems > System Update for updating your Pixel 2 XL.

Google 5.0 Calendar available for download – Material Design UI

Google has now officially rolled Gmail 5.0 and Calendar 5.0 version which goes in sync with Android 5.0 Material Design UI. We have already shared Gmail 5.0 apk for manual download and now today we are sharing Google 5.0 Calendar apk for all android devices running android 4.0.3+ ( non rooted and rooted also ).

Now you can add events from your Gmail app into the Calendar app as a reminder ( just like seen in Google Inbox app ). Calendar widget has also been updated which now shows a list of all events in the month on your device’s home screen.

Download Gmail 5.0 with Exchange Support for all android devices from Play Store

Google recently started sending Google Inbox invites to users which created a lot hype among android users and now they have started rolling officially Gmail 5.0 update which brings Exchange Support with material design in sync with android 5.0 Lollipop Material Design system UI. New Gmail 5.0 UI is much similar to Google Inbox UI.

Gmail 5.0 is rolling out to android devices ( still in seeding stage ) on Play Store. You may have to wait a bit to get Gmail 5.0 update notification on your device.

Chromecast Screen Casting comes to Xperia Z2, Z3v, Z2 Tablet officially

Google’s Chromecast Screen Casting feature is already available for Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z3 Compact and now it officially supports 3 more Xperia devices viz. Xperia Z3v, Xperia Z2 and Xperia Z2 Tablet as spotted on Chromecast Screen App support page. Google’s Chromecast Screen Casting allows you to play the content of your mobile’s on your TV.

Chromecast Screen Casting is still in beta phase, requires Android 4.4.2+ ( Xperia Z2 and Xperia Z2 Tablet are still on android 4.4.2 ) for functioning. This feature is not available for iOS devices for the time being.

Google Play Store 4.9.13 version brings Material Design UI

Google made the announcement on Twitter today that Play Store to newer version 4.9.13 which brings material design UI to app, books, music, games, news section. Material Design UI was spotted on Play Store at Google I/O 2014 event and now it seems getting a update on Google Nexus devices. We have got new Google Play Store 4.9.13 version on our Xperia Z1 also.

Play Store 4.9.13 version although is not a major update but brings Material design touch in app listing pages. Description of apps are available in new window now with more flat UI. Games listing shows video trailer at top of screen rather in image gallery section.

Watch Google I/O 2014 live stream from Moscone center, San Francisco

Google I/O 2014 event will soon start at Moscone center, San Francisco and live stream feed will be available on YouTube at 9.30 PM IST | 9 AM PST | 4 PM GMT | 12 PM ET, 25 June 2014. It is rumored that Google will be unveiling newer Android version 5.0 (  possibly naming it as “Lollipop” ).

Google’s Android head Sundar Pichai will be presenting a keynote to Google developers around the world. Newer android version, successor to Nexus 7 Tablet 2013, android wear devices and a lot have been speculated for the Google I/O 2014 event. Seeing a successor for Nexus 5 will be a surprise for us if it comes anyhow. Improvements in Google Play Services and Android UI is definitely promised.

Nexus 8 Tablet Coming at end of April from Google-Asus Rumors

New rumors have started coming for Google Nexus 8 Tablet now as Google is working on it now due to low Nexus 7 2013 tablet sales world wide. Google Nexus 8 Tablet manufactured by ASUS due to launch at end of April 2014, as per latest article on DigiTimes quotes. As per sources Google is planning to ship initially 2 Million Nexus 8 Tablet units from launch.

As per reports sales of Nexus 7 2013 tablets were a bit low as 3 Million units sold till Dec 2013 due to increasing competition in 7 inch display devices. Many 5-6 inch display devices from Sony, Samsung, LG have come up recently and 6.4″ Xperia Z Ultra Tablet and Samsung’s Note devices generation are competitive devices in the same range.

To avoid price and screen size competition, Google is planning to launch Nexus 8 Tablet with 8 inch screen display, as there are not much devices in same range except Apple’s iPad Mini which has around 7.9 inch screen size.

If rumors come true we may see soon a new GoogleNexus 8 Tablet manufactured again by ASUS and hope so with calling facility this time and a higher Snapdragon SoC. Neither the existence of Nexus 8 Tablet nor its release date is confirmed for the time being, take the news with a pinch of salt.

Google Nexus 5 Screen Cracked after falling on hard surface

Nexus 5 the latest flagship device from Google, well no doubt it is undoubtedly the best device running stock android ROM till now but many users are complaining now their Nexus 5 screen has cracked after falling from a low height on a hard surface. Nexus 5 features 4.95″ screen Corning Gorilla Glass 3 but is it tough enough to resist daily falls and avoid cracks.

Well a user claims his Google Nexus 5 fell from his coat pocket on a hard surface and his Nexus 5 screen cracked from top side. On side bumpers not much cracks or marks were spotted but on screen it has got a lot cracks. Check below images.

Well Nexus 5 Screen Cracked after falling on a “hard surface”, concerned accepts that but does that much damage on screen should have been happened, that’s an question here.
