Sony Stereo Microphone STM10 was officially unveiled at MWC 2014 with Xperia Z2 and Xperia Z2 Tablet. Sony Stereo Microphone STM10 is high sensitive type of audio recording device made up of aluminium frame and steel mesh; 90 degree tilt functioning is there so that you can record audio coming from any direction.

Sony Stereo Microphone STM10 Hands on Photos have arrived with a 4K sample taken from Xperia Z2 fitted with STM10 audio mic. 4K sample video has kind low voice may be due to firmware issues as Sony is still updating the firmware for official launch in market, hopefully in April.

STM10 beta recording app is also spotted whether it is official or not, can’t be said yet. 4 Audio recording quality is available under settings, the highest lossless 44kHz 16bit WAV.

Sony Bluetooth Remote with Handset Function BRH10, a new type of Bluetooth accessory from Sony which will allows you to control your smartphone and tablet handsfree. It is enabled with HD voice and speakerphone for handsfree calling facility so that you can answer any call with it. A new BRH10 android app ( via Smart Connect ) will be soon available at Google Play store compatible with this device on all devices running android 4.4 or higher versions.

With the help of BRH10, you can use Google Voice search to make calls and perform search on internet. Sony Bluetooth Remote with Handset Function BRH10 will be compatible with both android and iOS devices. It comes with a dock like stand to keep the BRH10 handset in it. Handset BRH10 has Bluetooth 3.0, IP57 water resistant and RGB LED lights to indicate various modes.

Sony has featured Digital Noise Cancelling technology in Xperia Z2 which reduced the ambient noises up to 98% when paired with above DNC MDR-NC31EM headset.

Digital Noise Cancelling Headset MDR-NC31EM will be available in white and black color and for the time being they are under coming soon tag so no specific info is there on price, we expect them to be priced at around £60. Hands-free calling is also enabled which will only work if it is connected to 3.5 mm 5 pole audio-contact. 13.5 mm dynamic speaker type is used in DNC Headset MDR-NC31EM.

Sony has announced a special protective cover for Xperia Z2 i.e. Style Cover Stand SCR10. Style Cover Stand SCR10 is a ultra thin flip cover style case exclusively made for Xperia Z2, will be available in white and black color. It is a special notebook style case which can be used as a desk stand for perfect viewing.

Sony has also launched a separate Style Cover Stand SCR12 for Xperia Z2 Tablet. Style Cover Stand SCR10 is under coming soon tag on Sony’s online store and no info on the price of Style Cover Stand SCR10 is available for the time being. [ REVIEW ] Xperia Z1 Leather Flip Case from Noreve

Today we have brought another leather flip case for review from Noreve, exclusively for Xperia Z1. In past we have reviewed leather flip cases for Xperia Z, Xperia Z Ultra, Xperia SP and Xperia ZR from Noreve and one of the finest leather quality we have seen in the cases manufactured by them, it’s just superb. We will be reviewing two different cases for Xperia Z1 here in two different posts.

Xperia Z1 Leather Flip Case from Noreve, model number Tradition D is priced at 44.08€ inclusive of all taxes and ships world wide with in 24 hours free of cost. You get to design your own case if you want, choose the various color combinations and textures available. You need to pay extra 4.17€ for customization excluding default black color case. Option for gift wrapping the case is also available on paying extra 5€.

[ REVIEW ] Xperia Z1 Leather Flip Case from Noreve

As usual it came in black and red box combination which looks very neat for a retail box of a phone’s case. Let’s have a look at it. Case is present inside a red pouch.

Now let’s have a look at naked Xperia Z1 Leather Flip Case from Noreve. In the above pic you can see on front is has Noreve’s brand logo on bottom right corner.

At back Noreve- Saint Tropez is written in silver color and stitched in black thread.

Let’s put Xperia Z1 inside the case. Case fits perfectly. Notice the front flap’s inner lining there is Noreve embossed everywhere, surface lining is smooth so that no harm to screen is made. All bumper clips are at perfect place so that phone fits firmly inside case.

Non-magnetic closure is included in the case.

Perfect space for speaker grills in the case.

Notebook style of case. You can’t access any ports while case in on along left profile of case i.e. you can’t use magnetic charging dock DK31 or EC21 charging cable while this case is on.

Opening for 3.5mm headphone jack in the case. Do note that there is no opening for hearing speaker on front flap which means if you use the phone for call while case on then hearing sound will be very low as what we faced.

While case in on, you may still be able to access the power button, volume rocker keys, SIM card slot and external camera key on right profile of Xperia Z1.

At back side of box there is an instruction manual placed inside.

Outer side of Xperia Z1 3000mAh Mugen Power Battery Case has a camera opening and secondary microphone hole. At the bottom of case there are 5 LEDs which glows in blue light to show the amount of power left in case.

Inner side of the case has magnetic dock pins which are used to charge Xperia Z1 and electrical ratings of the case are also written.

Charging Results

It took us around 4.45 hours to charge the case fully.
While charging our Xperia Z1 from 0-65% , case got discharged completely.

Xperia SP users if you are looking for some USB desktop dock charger for your phone then you already know that Sony has not officially launched any such dock charger for Xperia SP but it is not the end of road. We searched among many manufacturers and found Xperia SP USB desktop dock charger and it goes well with Xperia SP M35H, C5302, C5303 and C5306.

As there is no magnetic charging pins in Xperia SP so the Xperia SP USB desktop dock charger uses the USB port for charging it and for data sync. It is priced at $8.59 which is a very decent price and is available for shipping world wide ( normally ships from Hong Kong ). It comes with 1 year warranty and is available in black color only. It took more than 15 days to reach us.

Keyboard Mode

Mouse Mode

How to adjust phone on it ?

Slide the extensive holder upwards and then gently put your phone inside. We tested it with our Xperia Z1 and it goes very well in it 🙂 Don’t try putting Xperia Z Ultra inside it rather out Xperia Z Ultra on dock and then pair it with the ipega wireless Bluetooth controller and then use it in different modes.

How to pair your device with ipega wireless Bluetooth controller ?

Press “Home” button on the ipega wireless Bluetooth controller and wait till you see red LED lighted on then switch on the Bluetooth on your Xperia device, make it discoverable and it will be paired automatically and if it doesn’t then ipega wireless Bluetooth controller’s Bluetooth will be switch off automatically, once paired it red LED will glow continuously.

We also tested it pairing with our PC and it also goes well. It works well with most of the games but do read the manual which comes with as it will clarify your all doubts on how to use it in different modes in different games.
