Sony Smart Tennis sensor is now finally available in the USA at a price tag of $200 from Sony official online store. Using Sony Smart Tennis sensor and the compatible app you can view real-time data like ball impact spot, ball spin, ball speed, and swing speed etc.

Sony Smart Tennis Sensor has been approved by the International Tennis Federation so it can used in all noted competitions. Sony partnered with Wilson, HEAD, Prince, and YONEX to build the perfect sensor that can be fitted inside the racket. The Sensor is removable and can be easily fitted inside the racket, it lasts for around 90 minutes (on a full charge continuous usage with Bluetooth and 180 minutes without Bluetooth).

Sony has launched a beautiful LED light bulb speaker in Japan which blends sound and light playing music wireless via Bluetooth connectivity. Sony LSPX-100E26J LED light bulb speaker is priced at $199 i.e. ¥23880 and will be available in Japan for purchase from 23 May.

Sony LSPX-100E26J LED light bulb speaker gets paired with an app (SongPal) in your device (paired via Bluetooth) to control volume, brightness (warm light). It comes with a dedicated remote which can be used to control the LED light bulb speaker. (remote is included in the package along with its CR2032 Lithium battery).

On left headset of Sony SBH60 we have power button, LED light, microphone, volume up/down button, call take/end button, micro USB port, 3.5 mm connector port and NFC.

Below you can see 3.5 mm jack port and volume keys.

Below you can see call taking/ending button ( also used to pause any music track ).

Below you can see micro USB port, used for charging.

Right headset doesn’t have any buttons.

How to Pair it ?

It supports one connect pairing via Bluetooth & NFC. To power on, Sony SBH60 Bluetooth Stereo Headset, press the power button ( present on left headset ) for 5 seconds. LED light present beside it will glow to green once your device is paired.

Download Sony Smart Connect app to check the battery status of the headset including music playback and standby time. Creating dedicated events functionality is also available via Smart Connect app.

Bluetooth range is usual 10 meters for the headset.

Use the 3.5 mm headset connecting cable which is given inside the box if you want to use headset as wired.

How to Charge it ?

It supports charging via micro USB connector only. Connect the AC Adapter to it, red light glows once charging starts and green light glows once it is charged fully.

It takes around 30 minutes ( less than even ) to charge fully via 1.5A Sony AC Adapter, which in Sony’s Smart Connect app shows around 17 hours of music playback time ( which is completely false ). It can also be charged via PC ( connecting with USB cable ).

Call quality

With the presence of microphone very near in left headset and with HD voice technology, call quality is great. Caller on other end gets very crisp and clear voice.

It is compatible with wide range of handsets ( supporting Bluetooth, NFC or 3.5 mm connector jack ). We tried it with Xperia Z2 & Lumia 830; it worked fine.

Sony’s older generation SmartBand model SWR10 saw an upgrade today in terms of design as SmartBand SWR10 with brown leather wrist strap is now available for purchase from official Sony Xperia online stores across Europe and other regions.

Sony SmartBand SWR10 is a fitness band from Sony to track and log the details of your daily activities like walking, sleeping, cycling etc. Tagged with Sony doesn’t mean it can only be used with Xperia devices, you can use it with any android device ( for Xperia handsets you need atleast android 4.4 running ). It has a light weight wrist strap with a Sony core which is used to track your physical activities like steps count during walking or running.

Brown leather wrist strap gives really a premium look to SmartBand SWR10 now, it looks moreover like a watch now. It is available for purchase for £79.99 / $121 from Sony UK online store.

Stainless steel edition of Sony SmartWatch 3 launched at CES 2015

Sony has finally launched a stainless steel edition of Sony SmartWatch 3 at CES 2015 which will be available for purchase in February. Sony says stainless steel gives you “timeless aestheticism for a premium look and feel”. SmartWatch 3 has 1.6” 320×320 TFT LCD Transflective display, IP 68 certified.

Sony also introduced SmartWatch 3 holder enabling users to try any 24mm watch strap with their SmartWatch 3, availability date unknown for the time being.

Sony NW-ZX2 Walkman launched at CES 2015 – First Look

Sony introduced its latest Walkman flagship NW-ZX2 over previous flagship model Sony ZX1 Walkman at CES 2015 earlier today. Sony ZX2 Walkman is expected to hit market at whooping price of $1200 ( approx. ).

It runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS allowing you to download apps from Google Play Store. It has gold colored headphone jack, 128 GB of internal storage with micro SD card slot and claiming 60 hours of music playback. Bluetooth and NFC connectivity is available for pairing and wireless streaming. It support audio formats like DSD, AIFF, FLAC, WAV, Apple Lossless etc.

Sony MDR-EX31BN Noise Cancelling Bluetooth stereo earphones launched in India

Sony launched today MDR-EX31BN Noise Cancelling Bluetooth stereo earphones in India for Rs 5490/$88 in red and black colors. Sony MDR-EX31BN earphones are only compatible fully working with Digit Noise Cancelling enabled Xperia smartphones ( Xperia Z2, Xperia Z3 ), otherwise they will only work as normal earphones without DNC.

It uses Bluetooth or NFC for pairing it with your device. It has 13.5 mm sound driver unit and comes with micro USB charging port, once changed fully allowing usage of more than 10 hours. It allows you to receive and end calls.

How to Pair ?

To pair the case with your Xperia Z3, activate NFC on your device and then bring it near the below shown in built NFC tag on SCR24 case. It will prompt you to download the various smart windows widgets and apps which can be accessed from smart window without opening the cover.

You can also download the Sony’s official SCR24 case Xperia Themes available on Play Store.

If you look closely, there is a circular mark in below pic; it is where magnetic sensor is placed.

How to place your device ?

Peel of the sheet from the inner side of back flap of case and place your device on the adhesive gel pad.

Remove the protective layer from smart window.

USB and magnetic charging dock port can be accessed without opening the case. Check the below pic without Xperia Z3 showing that USB cable and charging dock pins can be easily inserted.

Sony introduced Smart Window cover for the first time ( for Xperia Z3 ) and previously they launched SCR10 case for Xperia Z2. Both cases are made up of PU Leather material.

Sony branding is placed on front flap on SCR10 case for Xperia Z2 and on back side of SCR24 case for Xperia Z3.

Ports openings are not accessible in SCR10 case ( while case is closed ).

SCR10 can be used as desk stand while the same functionality is absent in SCR24 case.

You can see Bluetooth and NFC logo on top of Sony BSP10 Bluetooth Speaker and beside Bluetooth icon there is an LED which is lighted when the speaker is paired with any smartphone/tablet.

There is volume increase & decrease buttons ( in form of +/- icons ) and a button to receive/end calls beside which there is hole for inbuilt microphone.

How to Pair it ?

It supports one connect pairing via Bluetooth & NFC. Press the power button for about 2-4 seconds on Sony BSP10 Bluetooth Speaker, a white
LED glows on then pair it with your device/smartphone/tablet; once paired light green LED glows.

You need Sony Smart Connect app to check the battery status of the speaker including music playback and standby time. Creating dedicated events functionality is alos available via Smart Connect app.

Bluetooth range is 10 meters for the speaker. If you leave it idle not connected to any device it goes in automatic power saving sleep mode.

Charging/Playback Time

Charging Period

It took us around 1 hours and 35 minutes to charge it fully via 1.5 A Sony AC Adapter, which in Sony’s Smart Connect app shows 7 hours of music playback time and 24 days in standby. It can also be charged via PC.

Music Playback Period

Sony BSP10 Bluetooth Speaker can play music for not more than 5 hours ( battery exhausts in b/w 4-5 hours of playback ).

How to Charge it ?

It supports charging via micro USB connector or via Qi Wireless plate ( use Sony’s WCH10 Wireless charging plate ). While charging via USB cable, red LED glows and once it is fully charged green LED glows beside USB connecting point.

Call Quality

Whenever a call comes, a dedicated ring tone is played via Sony BSP10 Bluetooth Speaker, press the call button to pick up the call and press it again to end it.

Make sure whenever you are using it as hands free, increase the volume of speaker. One may need to speak a bit louder as inbuilt microphone seems not very much responsive wheres as caller’s incoming sound quality is good.

Music Playback quality

Music Playback quality is very good as compared to Sony SRS-BTV5 speaker. If you have connected it via Xperia device and playing music in Walkman app then under audio settings enable Clear Audio+ and Dynamic normaliser option for better sound.
