Sony Mobile unveiled Xperia XA Ultra today very unexpectedly. A few days back news came that Sony might continue to move forward with Xperia “X” series for next 1-2 years and then suddenly Xperia XA Ultra came with a selfie front cam ditching the Sony Xperia “C” Ultra series legacy.
For the first time a Xperia smartphone features Optical Image Stabilisation in the camera and that too in the front camera. Xperia XA Ultra features 1/2.6″ 16 MP OIS low-light selfie camera ( Sony Exmor R for mobile sensor with Front flash, Wide angle lens-88 degree) with a 1/2.4″ 21.5 MP Hybrid AutoFocus camera (Exmor RS for mobile sensor and Quick launch). Somehow Sony missed OIS in the rear camera where it is needed the most!!!
Sony Xperia XA Ultra
Xperia XA Ultra features MediaTek MT6755 64 bit Octa Core processor running on 3GB RAM with 16 GB internal storage (10 GB accessible) and upto 200 GB microSD card support, and running Android Marshmallow out of the box. It features 6″ FHD screen display, Mobile BRAVIA Engine 2 with Super VIVID Mode.
It will have both Single SIM and Dual SIM variants (4G LTE enabled). It features 2700 mAh battery with Sony’s 2 day battery life back-up claim. It weighs 202 gram and is 8.4mm thick (164 x 79 x 8.4mm in dimensions). It will be available in white, graphite black and lime gold color in July 2016 in selected markets only.
