    Hi All,
I’ve just finished flashing to the 14.3.A.0.757 firmware for my Xperia D5503. Best thing that I could have done with my phone. I purchased it only a couple of days ago from Telstra Australia and it came with endless bloatware and the Telstra One account software installed.

Whilst the phone update told me that I already had the latest version, the version only showed up as 4.3 so I knew it was not the latest available version. After downloading and installing the flashtool and the ftf file I was all set to go. This process took several hours even though I have an Optus broadband connection. I had to use the flashtool and the ftf as my PC Companion would only flash up to the 4.3 version that was already installed on the phone.

The process of flashing only took a few minutes and I kept all my data such as installed apps, contacts, music etc. When I rebooted it I had a beautiful new operating system installed and was able to say goodbye to all the Telstra junk. I can always restore the Telstra versions if I need to use the warranty but I am not planning on this but just for safety sake have kept my backups.

It really looks and feels like a whole new phone even though I have only had it a couple of days (no Telstra rubbish). Many thanks to the developers who put this ftf together.

Best of luck to all the other flashers out there looking for a new Android system. I can’t recommend 14.3.A.0.757 highly enough.

      Hi Allan,

Thanks for posting this information – I’m about to buy a Z1 Compact but have been reading tidbits about Telstra’s bugs and the likelihood of delays in their approving the latest firmware for official release, so it’s good to know you’ve found a solution.

Can I just ask a quick question – is it an easy and obvious process to restore to the original Telstra firmware for warranty purposes? I’m asking this with no experience of the flashtool software yet, I’d just like to be a little ahead of the game once I’ve got the new phone in my hands!

      Thanks mate,

      Matt.
