A few days back we saw Xperia Z Ultra Android 4.4.2 KitKat 14.3.A.0.681 firmware update getting rolled on a user’s Xperia Z Ultra C6833, it is expected as either it is some internal leak or an update over some developer handset. Yesterday system dump of 14.3.A.0.681 firmware was leaked and developers have started porting features from Xperia Z Ultra KitKat update now.

XDA dev DavidMKD has ported Xperia Z Ultra KitKat Charging Animation mod from 4.4.2 and it looks pretty nice. You can install it on your android 4.1.2+ running handset, rooted with CWM recovery installed. Kindly install SuperUser Mod if you can, follow the guide given here.

Download the below zip file and flash it in recovery. Backup your “chargemon” file before replacing it.

[ UPDATE – 9 March ] Xperia Z Ultra 14.3.A.0.681 firmware System Dump Leaked – 4.4.2 KitKat

After seeing the System Dump below mentioned features were present.

What is present in this KitKat update ?

  • Answering machine option in Call app.
  • Simple Home option as second launcher.

What is not present in this KitKat update ?

  • No 4K Video cam app.
  • No TimeShift Video app.
  • No Glove Mode.
  • No Tap to Wake up option.
  • Smart Call handling.
  • Smart Backlight option.

    Strange,xda’s news show that z1 would got all the characteristics that z ultra wouldn’t got

          I am saying I don’t know about the source of their content…

          As per my source some z2 features will remain exclusive on z2 for the time being.

          No tap to wake up, smart call handling, smart backlight control is there is kitkat z1 update.
          Simple home and answering machine is there.
          Creative effect camera app will be there…

          Why do you expect Sony to give all Z2 features like 4k to Z1 now ? I don’t expect, Z1 is no longer a flagship accept it, no point of giving a flagship device z2 feature to a regular device z1 so early.
          Xz got z1 UI after 3-4 months same will happen here.
