A few days ago we saw 14.2.A.1.142 firmware getting certified for Xperia Z1 Compact D5503 along with Xperia Z1 and Xperia Z Ultra on PTCRB and it has just started rolling on Xperia Z1 Compact now officially. Out of the box Xperia Z1 Compact came with android 4.3 14.2.A.1.114 firmware and then 14.2.A.1.136 firmware was certified which has not been rolled till now but some users are now reporting directly getting 14.2.A.1.142 firmware update. 14.2.A.1.142 firmware open sources files were uploaded yesterday by Sony.
14.2.A.1.142 firmware keeps Xperia Z1 Compact on android 4.3 and is available via PC Companion and SUS, no OTA for 14.2.A.1.142 firmware seen yet. Connect your Xperia Z1 Compact to PC Companion and look for firmware update notification, if you got on proceed as per on screen instructions. 14.2.A.1.142 firmware is still seeding so it may take time to reach your region. 14.2.A.1.142 firmware confirmed in Taiwan and Italy region as per user mag1017. At present it is not clear whether this carrier specific update or for regular variants but as soon as we get info, we will update post.
