23.1.C.0.385 Lollipop firmware certified for T-Mobile Xperia Z3 again

A few days back, the very first Android 5.0.2 Lollipop build was certified for T-Mobile Xperia Z3 in the form of 23.1.C.0.381 build and now another 23.1.C.0.385 build has been certified on PTCRB. As happened earlier sony certified more than one Lollipop build before rolling out the final one, so this can be the final firmware.

23.1.C.0.385 firmware is certified for Xperia Z3 D6616 and is exclusively for T-Mobile USA variant of Xperia Z3. Sony has already updated global variants of Xperia Z3 on Android Lollipop in mid-April.

Earlier today we saw Android 5.1.1 Lollipop 23.4.A.0.xxx firmware running (video here) on Xperia Z3, showing the new Lollipop animations, new quick settings options in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth settings and the new icons in the settings menu.

So far, Sony has rolled Android Lollipop update on Xperia Z2, Xperia Z2 Tablet, Xperia Z1, Xperia Z Ultra, Xperia Z1 Compact, Xperia T2 Ultra & Xperia C3.

23.1.C.0.381 Lollipop firmware certified for T-Mobile Xperia Z3

A few days back news came that Android Lollipop update will soon be coming on T-Mobile Xperia Z3 and now Lollipop 23.1.C.0.381 firmware has been certified on PTCRB. Recently Lollipop firmware for T-Mobile Xperia Z1s was also certified.

23.1.C.0.381 firmware if rolled will bring Android 5.0.2 Lollipop version on T-Mobile Xperia Z3 D6616 in USA. Sony has already updated global variants of Xperia Z3 to Lollipop in mid-April.

So far, Sony has rolled Android Lollipop update on Xperia Z2, Xperia Z2 Tablet, Xperia Z1, Xperia Z Ultra, Xperia Z1 Compact, Xperia T2 Ultra & Xperia C3.

Early members of Xperia “Z” series i.e. Xperia Z, Xperia ZR, Xperia ZL, Xperia Tablet Z still have not received that Lollipop update though it has been certified.

As carrier updates normally take some time to roll, so it may take a while for 23.1.C.0.381 Lollipop firmware to come (if no further certifications came).

T-Mobile Xperia Z1s C6916 14.5.B.0.228 Lollipop firmware certified

A new Android 5.0.2 Lollipop 14.5.B.0.228 firmware has been certified for T-Mobile Xperia Z1s C6916 handset at PTCRB over older 14.5.B.0.220 firmware which was certified in April starting. A few days back Sony rolled Android 5.0.2 14.5.A.0.242 firmware update on global variant of Xperia Z1.

14.5.B.0.228 firmware will move Xperia Z1s to Android 5.0.2 from Android 4.4.4 KitKat 14.4.B.0.56 firmware. No ETA is there when the update will be rolled on the carrier handset in USA.

Sony earlier pulled Android Lollipop update from some regions within a day of rolling it on Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z2 (because of some bugs) and then released another bug fixing update; 14.5.B.0.228 firmware seems to do the same thing over 14.5.B.0.220 firmware (which was never released).

Sony has already rolled Android 5.0.2 Lollipop update on Xperia “Z3” and Xperia “Z2” series in the form of 23.1.A.0.690 firmware and is now available worldwide.

Sony will also give Lollipop update to Xperia T2 Ultra and Xperia C3, 19.3.A.0.468 firmware has been certified for both handsets already.

Once 14.5.B.0.228 Lollipop firmware begins to roll, we will let you know.

Xperia Z3 on T-Mobile soon getting 700MHz LTE 12 Band Support update in May 2015

T-Mobile is planning an update for Xperia Z3 in upcoming May 2015 which will bring 700MHz LTE 12 Band support for it which means better higher speed LTE connectivity. It seems that Android 5.0 Lollipop update will come later on Xperia Z3 T-Mobile may be after May 2015.

At present Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Note Edge enjoy T-Mobile 700MHz LTE 12 Band Support and as soon as T-Mobile is done rolling an OTA update for the same in May 2015, Xperia Z3 users will also be able to see it.

An user at XDA (CollinFX45) posted that he was able to connect to LTE 12 Band on T-Mobile network on his Xperia Z3 in US, may be T-Mobile is testing it now ( as they can’t enable it without due permissions ) and soon it will be enabled for all to connect.

10.4.C.0.793 firmware certified for Xperia Z C6606 and C6616

Just a day after we saw  10.4.1.B.0.101 firmware rolling on Xperia Z, ZL, ZR and Tablet Z globally now, yet another 10.4.C.0.793 firmware has been certified for Xperia Z C6606 and C6616 on PTCRB. 10.4.C.0.793 firmware seems a minor update over previous 10.4.B.0.569 firmware seen on T-Mobile Xperia Z variant.

10.4.C.0.793 firmware is only certified for Xperia Z C6606 and C6616 and will not be seen on C6602 / C6603. It seems android 4.3 update only and as per our knowledge android 4.4.x KitKat update is very far for Xperia Z for the time being. Check below the 10.4.C.0.793 firmware certification.
