Sony Keyboard app has got a new 8.0.A.0.100 version update over the older 8.0.A.0.80 version. It is a minor bug fixing stability update. You need minimum Android 4.4+ running on your device to install the app.

Xperia Keyboard now comes with pre-installed themes just like Google Gboard. Xperia Keyboard settings are now adapted to the Multi-Window feature that’s introduced with Android.

Xperia Keyboard 8.0.A.0.80 app update brings improved gesture input in Stamina mode

Sony Xperia Keyboard app has got a new 8.0.A.0.80 version update over the older 8.0.A.0.50 version. New updtae brings solution to following issues: taps were sometimes misinterpreted as gesture input when in Stamina mode and reopening a word could result in showing the wrong default prediction candidate.

You need minimum Android 4.4+ running on your device to install the Xperia Keyboard app. Sony Mobile now provides various pre-installed keyboard themes also.

Sony Xperia Keyboard app has been updated to newer 7.3.A.0.20 version over the older 7.2.A.0.32 version. Xperia Keyboard now features four new keyboard skins viz. Blue, Green, Pink and Purple.

New setting to disable/enable key popup on phones has been added. Keyboard layout for Arabic has been improved along with key press logic for better predication.

Sony Mobile recently released Android 6.0 Marshmallow Concept build MDB08M.Z1.2153 which added Xperia Theme support for Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z3 Compact (only for beta testing users).

New Xperia Home 10.0.A.0.3 and Xperia Keyboard 7.0.A.0.14 app is spotted in the build MDB08M.Z1.2153, which has now been ported for Xperia handsets running Lollipop. You need rooted Xperia handset to install the below posted app. Try normal install or try to push in system/apps with correct permissions (steps here).

Sony Xperia Keyboard app has been updated to newer 6.7.A.0.90 version over the older 6.7.A.0.86 version. Xperia Keyboard app 6.7.A.0.90 brings new language support: Punjabi along with usual bugs fixing and performance enhancement.

Sony has now provided support for numeric row on Xperia phones, new layout for number fields and access more word suggestions on phone by long pressing the “…” in the candidate bar when more than three candidates are available.

Xperia Z3+ Keyboard 6.7.A.0.10 app available for Lollipop & KitKat devices

A few days back Sony updates its keyboard app to new 6.6.A.0.30 version on Play Store which was a major update and brought new features like larger spacebar for easier typing, numeric row for the input of numbers on tablets, new language support for Armenian, Azerbaijani, Belarusian, Georgian, and Tatar and Phonepad layout for Xperia Z2.

On the available system dump of Xperia Z3+ Lollipop firmware, Keyboard app 6.7.A.0.10 version was spotted and now it is available for install on all Android devices running Lollipop and KitKat.

Root Needed.
Custom Recovery (Preferred).

How to Install?

1st Method: Flash zip files via recovery.

Download the above posted flashable zip files.
Reboot in recovery and flash the zip files, reboot your device.
Do not forget to enable “Xperia Keyboard” as your keyboard under language & input settings.

2nd Method: Manual Installation

For Lollipop ROMs

Extract all the contents of the downloaded zip file.
Now put the “textinput-tng” folder into /system/app (with apk & lib inside it).
Set correct permissions and reboot,

For KitKat 4.4 ROMs

Extract all the contents of the downloaded zip file.
Now put the “textinput-tng” folder into /system/app
Now put the “libswiftkeysdk-java.so” into /system/lib
Give correct permissions and reboot.
