Closer look of Sony’s backed FES e-ink watch in pics

A few days back we shared hands on pics of FES e-ink watch and now a more closer look is available. It works on electronic paper technology with 24 design options (combination of black and white color) which can be changed at dial and strap level.

It is water resistant, dimensions are: diameter 46 mm, thickness 7.5 mm. It weighs 43 grams and the strap is made up of urethane rubber black. There is no Bluetooth, no GPS in the watch. It looks like one is wearing a paper printed layout on his wrist.

Paper display looks great on FES e-ink watch but might not be the suitable choice for those users who don’t like black and white display.

Sony’s crowdfunded FES e-ink watch Hands On pics

Fashion Entertainments e-ink watch (a Sony subsidiary product) is a very different wearable from a regular smartwatch as it works on electronic paper technology.

It supports the 24 hour display (without date and any timer). It comes with 24 different wear-patterns (both dial and strap display different images to match wear-patterns) and is water resistant also (exact IP certification not known).

Sony lists SmartBand SWR10 with Brown Leather Wrist Strap officially

Sony’s older generation SmartBand model SWR10 saw an upgrade today in terms of design as SmartBand SWR10 with brown leather wrist strap is now available for purchase from official Sony Xperia online stores across Europe and other regions.

Sony SmartBand SWR10 is a fitness band from Sony to track and log the details of your daily activities like walking, sleeping, cycling etc. Tagged with Sony doesn’t mean it can only be used with Xperia devices, you can use it with any android device ( for Xperia handsets you need atleast android 4.4 running ). It has a light weight wrist strap with a Sony core which is used to track your physical activities like steps count during walking or running.

Brown leather wrist strap gives really a premium look to SmartBand SWR10 now, it looks moreover like a watch now. It is available for purchase for £79.99 / $121 from Sony UK online store.
