Xperia Z2, Z2 Tablet 23.0.1.A.0.167 firmware Android 4.4.4 certified

After a long wait Android 4.4.4 23.0.1.A.0.167 firmware has been certified for Xperia Z2 and Xperia Z2 Tablet. Sony first updated Xperia Z1 and Xperia Z Ultra on android 4.4.4 version and later on updated Xperia T2 Ultra family on android 4.4.3 version though it was weird that the then flagship model Xperia Z2 was left out in cold without an update.

23.0.1.A.0.167 firmware is certified for all models of Xperia Z2 and Xperia Z2 Tablet globally which clearly means the roll out is very near now. If you noticed Sony has adopted a new firmware number series i.e. 23.0.X.X.X.XXX for Xperia Z2 series now which clearly means a major update over older Android 4.4.2 17.1.2.A.0.314 firmware and may be a new UI like Xperia Z3.

It will not take a mot time till we see Jelly Bean 11.2.A.0.31 firmware actually getting rolled out for Xperia J ST26i users. It may happen Sony add some new media apps in this new Jelly Bean 11.2.A.0.31 firmware update with all the latsest features which all Xperia phones got with Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean Update.

A lot good news for Xperia users today, back today Sony Xperia France tweeted that Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean for Xperia S is rolling out and will be available till next week 🙂 Till now no further dates have been mentioned, it seems it will come at the end of month May.

It seems Sony has finally put up final jelly bean version for Xperia Ion for release, it could be a week more till we see Sony officially rolling out the Jelly Bean 6.2.B.0.204 firmware for Xperia Ion.

Well not very difference in both firmware’s build number. It seems Sony has done testing the jelly bean firmware for Xperia S/SL/Acro S and a slightly tweaked version was leaked. Check the listing of Xperia S Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean firmware 6.2.B.0.200. A lot ago we saw firmware 6.1.G.0.0 listed for both Xperia S and SL but none of them was updated on that firmware.

PTCRB has certified a newer firmware version 6.2.B.0.200 for Xperia S/SL/Acro S on their website. It is assumed to be the latest android 4.1.2 jelly bean version which we will see officially updated to them soon.
