Android 5.0 Lollipop coming in February 2015 on Xperia “Z” series, Sony COO, Michael Fasulo confirms

Sony confirmed that Android 5.0 Lollipop will be coming to Xperia “Z” series starting from next month February 2015 at CES 2015, by COO Michael Fasulo. Earlier Sony confirmed that update will be coming starting from early 2015 Jan.

Later today Sony Mobile tweeted confirming the same on their official Twitter page. The entire Xperia “Z” series will be getting the Android 5.0 Lollipop update. Exact version of update is still unknown ( whether it will be Android 5.0.1 or not ).

Sony Z Ultra GPe C6806 gets Android 5.0 Lollipop LRX21P.S3.4201 update

Android 5.0 Lollipop update hits Sony Z Ultra GPe ( Google Play Edition ) today as an OTA. It is the first Sony device to get Android 5.0 Lollipop update thought it’s not an Xperia, Sony has already promised Android 5.0 Lollipop update for entire Xperia “Z” series ( starting from Jan 2015 ).

Sony Z Ultra GPe Android 5.0 Lollipop update introduces a bold new visual style, improves performance, new option of seeing notifications at lock screen, extend time between charges with battery saving mode, manage notifications with automatic interruption controls, smart lock feature, screencast option.

Sony OFFICIALLY updating Android 5.0 Lollipop on entire Xperia “Z” series from early 2015

Yesterday Google unveiled Android 5.0 Lollipop as the newer version of its mobile OS and we were speculating which Xperia devices will get Android 5.0 Lollipop and now Sony has officially come up with a statement which we were expecting.

Sony will officially update whole Xperia “Z” series on Android 5.0 Lollipop as mentioned by Sony on their blog today. Android 5.0 Lollipop update roll out will start from latest flagship devices Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z3 from early 2015.

Sony Z Ultra will be the first device to get Android 5.0 Lollipop update very soon.

Sony has not mentioned any other device yet which will be getting Android 5.0 Lollipop update which brings doubt whether Xperia T2 Ultra, Xperia T3, Xperia C3, Xperia E3, Xperia M2 will get or not.

Sony has already ended support for Xperia S, SL, T, V, TX, SP, C, L, M, E, so there is no chance for any further android update.
