New firmwares i.e 18.1.A.1.21, 18.2.A.1.18 firmware have been certified for Xperia T3 on PTCRB, both updates are minor udpates looking at their build keeping Xperia T3 on Android 4.4.2. Both LTE and HSPA+ variant of Xperia T3 have got new firmware certification.

Xperia T3 18.1.A.1.21 firmware is certified for D5103, D5106 LTE variant of device, moving it from present 18.1.A.1.17 firmware build. 18.2.A.1.18 firmware is certified for Xperia T3 D5102 / M50w HSPA+ variant.

Xperia E1 20.1.A.0.47, E1 Dual 20.1.B.0.64 Android 4.4.2 KitKat update rolling

Sony Mobile has officially rolled out android 4.4.2 KitKat firmware update for Xperia E1 Dual and Xperia E1, making the announcement on their blog today. Xperia E1 and E1 Dual users can now update their handset over KitKat, confirmed in India and European regions.

Xperia E1 D2004 and D2005 has got 20.1.A.0.47 firmware while Xperia E1 Dual D2104 and D2105 has got 20.1.B.0.64 firmware update. Update is available over PC Companion, No OTA seen yet.

Sony has confirmed giving app to SD card feature for Xperia E1 and Xperia E1 Dual in this update saying this feature will be useful for devices with low internal memory. It was first spotted in Xperia T2 Ultra’s KitKat update recently.

As a part of changelog, new transparent status and navigation bar spotted, new Xperia home launcher, new Xperia themes, tweaked Xperia keyboard, Xperia lockscreen effects and boot animation.

New Sony Media apps along with updated Camera app is present. For PlayStation 4 users, new UI is introduced. Smoother UI, performance enhancement, built-in screenshot taking option in power menu now.

Xperia Z1s C6916 14.4.B.0.37 firmware certified – KitKat update

In month of June we saw a new 14.4.B.0.20 firmware build for Xperia Z1s C6916 getting certified at PTCRB which is expected to be Android KitKat update well now a higher build 14.4.B.0.37 firmware is spotted at PTCRB. At present Xperia Z1s is still on android 4.3 Jelly Bean since its launch at CES 2014 in Jan.

Sony has already updated Xperia “Z” series to KitKat where Xperia Z1 and Xperia Z Ultra are on android 4.4.4 KitKat version. We are still wondering why Sony is so slow with carrier updates. We saw Xperia Z on T-Mobile got its major update after a very long wait.

Is Xperia Z KitKat 10.5.A.0.230 firmware rolling now ?

Today we saw KitKat 10.5.A.0.227 firmware getting certified for Xperia Z, ZL, ZR and Tablet Z on PTCRB and a few days back we saw same firmware getting leaked online also and now the news is coming that a new higher android 4.4.2 KitKat build 10.5.A.0.230 firmware have struck Xperia Z in Malaysia and Denmark region as reported by many users in Sony Xperia Malaysia FB group and on XDA also.

All the users who reported this new KitKat 10.5.A.0.230 firmware for Xperia Z got it as OTA update, 307.1 MB in size but were not able to install it via OTA. We have not seen yet many Xperia Z users reporting this update. Do check your Xperia Z also if you are getting an OTA update notification for same update or not.

Sony has released its schedule for Android 4.4.2 KitKat rollout for other devices also, Xperia Z, Xperia ZL, Xperia Tablet Z and Xperia ZR will be getting KitKat in mid Q2 2014 while Xperia E1, Xperia M2 and Xperia T2 Ultra and T2 Ultra Dual will also get KitKat but no release date mentioned yet.

Today Sony Mobile has confirmed that they have started rolling Android 4.4.2 KitKat 14.3.A.0.681 firmware update for Xperia Z1, Xperia Z Ultra and Xperia Z1 Compact. Android 4.4.2 KitKat Update for Xperia Z, Xperia ZL, Xperia Tablet Z and Xperia ZR will be coming in mid Q2 and Xperia T2 Ultra, Xperia M2 and Xperia E1 will also be getting Android 4.4.2 KitKat update but no specific date mentioned for them yet by Sony.

Sony has updated the Android 4.4.2 KitKat 14.3.A.0.681 firmware build for Xperia Z1 on it’s software product page. 14.3.A.0.681 firmware update will come soon on Xperia Z1 now worldwide. A moment ago Sony officially confirmed that Android 4.4.2 KitKat update rollout for Xperia Z1, Xperia Z1 Compact and Xperia Z Ultra has started rolling and it should come to devices very soon ( still in seeding stage ). Sony has also mentioned that they will be rolling android 4.4.2 KitKat for Xperia Z, Xperia ZL, Xperia Tablet Z and Xperia ZR in mid Q2 2014 and Xperia T2 Ultra / Dual, Xperia E1 and Xperia M2 will also be upgraded to android 4.4.2 KitKat but no specific date for rollout mentioned yet.

Just now Sony Mobile has update the Xperia Z1 Compact latest version on Software page as Android 4.4.2 KitKat, roll out starting date 19 March 2014 with build number 14.3.A.0.681 firmware. 14.3.A.0.681 firmware update on Xperia Z1 Compact D5503 has not been spotted yet on user’s handset in regions and as soon as it rolls out we will let update you.

A very good news for all Sony Xperia fans, Sony Mobile has just now confirmed that Android 4.4.2 KitKat roll out has started for Xperia Z1, Xperia Z Ultra and Xperia Z1 Compact. No exact build number is included in the post but we expect either 14.3.A.0.681 or 14.3.A.0.747 firmware to come on Xperia Z1, Z1 Compact and Z Ultra handsets as KitKat firmware.

After a long wait something credible regarding android 4.4.2 KitKat rollout for Xperia Z1 and Xperia Z1 Compact have come up, just now a new 14.3.A.0.681 firmware has been certified on PTCRB for both phones. A few days back android 4.4.2 KitKat 14.3.A.0.681 firmware build was spotted rolling on Xperia Z Ultra C6833 which is believed to be either internal leak or an update over a developer’s handset and day before yesterday we saw new 14.3.A.0.747 firmware running on Xperia Z Ultra.

At present 14.3.A.0.681 firmware is certified only for Xperia Z1 Compact D5503 and Xperia Z1 C6943 variants, nothing spotted for any varaint of Xperia Z Ultra yet. It is very much believed that this 14.3.A.0.681 firmware build may not roll out as a few days back Sony has started testing a new higher build 14.3.A.0.747 firmware for Xperia Z1 Compact, Xperia Z1 and Xperia Z Ultra.

A few days back we saw Xperia Z Ultra C6833 getting android 4.4.2 14.3.A.0.681 firmware update OTA notification on a user’s handset which was believed to be an internal leak or an update on a developer’s handset. 14.3.A.0.681 firmware screenshots revealed the new KitKat UI from Sony and other features also. 14.3.A.0.681 firmware system dump is now available for download and some apps and features have already been ported to other Xperia handsets.

Just now @latter21 from Digi-Wo, a credible source when it comes to Sony Xperia handset’s leaks and other internal info; has just posted a pic of Xperia Z Ultra C6802 running on 14.3.A.0.747 firmware which is android 4.4.2 KitKat, a build higher than what we saw previously ( 14.3.A.0.681 firmware ).

As mentioned by original source, there is no tap to wake up feature included. 14.3.A.0.681 firmware details revealed that answering machine and simple home launcher is included while there is no smart call handling, smart backlight control and camera apps are same like on android 4.3.

It was already known that Sony has started testing a new 14.3.A.0.747 firmware build for Xperia Z1, Z Ultra and Z1 Compact and after seeing the leaked pic of 14.3.A.0.747 firmware about phone running on Xperia Z Ultra, we can hope it may be the final build to get released, though nothing is confirmed yet.

Xperia X10 AOSP Kitkat 4.4.2 Evervolv Es209ra ROM available now

Xperia X10, legendary Sony Ericsson device which seems forgotten by the developers and discontinued by the manufacturer has come back with a bang, guess what AOSP Android 4.4.2 KitKat ROM is now available for it. Xperia X10 features 384 MB total RAM in system which disregards the essential requirement of running KitKat 4.4.2 version, as it needs atleast 512 MB RAM for perfect installtion.

XDA user Tof37  has come up with the first of its kind Xperia X10 AOSP Kitkat 4.4.2 ROM which has successfully booted on many users handset, though it is still pre-alpha 1 stage so it has a lot many bugs and some essential features are obviously not working.

Xperia Z Ultra 14.3.A.0.681 firmware System Dump Leaked – 4.4.2 KitKat

Two days back we saw 14.3.A.0.681 firmware getting rolled on an user’s Xperia Z Ultra C6833 which is an upcoming Android 4.4.2 KitKat update planned by Sony. It is believed either it is some internal leak or an update over developer handset as neither Sony nor any user reported it. Android 4.4.2 KitKat being a major update will definitely see a formal announcement from Sony when it is rolled for concerned devices.

Except for some 14.3.A.0.681 firmware screenshots nothing else was spotted, no detailed changelog.
