Sony shows Xperia Z running Andorid Lollipop

Earlier today Sony posted a pic on their official Google+ page showing Android Lollipop running on Xperia Z, the very first device of Xperia “Z” generation with the caption “Coming Soon…“. Coming Soon might not sound different to Xperia “Z” series users as we have heard the same phrase from Sony many times regarding Android Lollipop update.

Yesterday Sony announced that Android Lollipop update will also come on Xperia T2 Ultra (T2 Ultra Dual) and Xperia C3 (Dual) also along with Xperia “Z” series.

Below you can see the pic posted by Sony today, showing the new lockscreen notification on Xperia Z running Android Lollipop exclusively.

Earlier Sony rolled Android Lollipop update on Xperia Z3 series and Xperia Z2 series in Nordics and Baltic regions only while as per the latest statement released by Sony, Android Lollipop update is available globally to Xperia Z3 series now.

Xperia Z2 series users will be getting Android Lollipop update starting from next week.

We will keep you updated once more info comes on Android Lollipop regarding Xperia “Z” series.

Sony Album 7.1.A.0.22 app updated – Image Deleting issue fixed

Sony Album app has seen a new update in the form of 7.1.A.0.22 version over older 7.1.A.0.16 version. This is the fifth time Sony Album app has got an update in March. Sony Album app is now officially getting updates from Play Store and Sony has also put Xperia Music app (Walkman app) on Play Store.

Sony Album 7.1.A.0.22 app is now available for download and fixes the issue for Xperia E1 users where they were not able to delete images. Update also brings usual bug fixing and performance enhancement.

Sony Movie Creator 2.5.A.0.2 app updated

Sony Movie Creator app has got a new 2.5.A.0.2 version update today over older 2.4.A.0.4 version (which was first put on Play Store officially). Update brings only minor bug fixing and performance enhancement as compared to the previous version.

Now you can select your video size (Full HD/SD/HD), you can change the video filters as more Sony designed video filters are available for auto-generated highlight movies. Update brings portrait video mode for highlight movies also.

Mysterious Sony Xperia devices with model number “E6553” has appeared in GFXBenchmark featuring Snapdragon 810 64-Bit octa-core chipset (1.9 GHz), Adreno 430 GPU, 3 GB RAM running on Android 5.0.2 Lollipop version.

Seeing the year 2014 Xperia codenames, Sony E6553 may lead to Sony’s upcoming flagship device Xperia Z4 which has earlier appeared in many leaks along with pics.

Sony confirms Xperia T2 Ultra & Xperia C3 Android Lollipop Update

Sony Mobile has officially confirmed today that Xperia C3 and Xperia T2 Ultra (T2 Ultra Dual) will be receiving Android Lollipop update very soon. Exact rollout date has not been mentioned yet, but it will come sooner or later finally.

Earlier Sony released Android 5.0.2 Lollipop update on Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z2 series handsets in the form of 23.1.A.0.690 firmware which was seen in Nordics and Baltic region only but as per the today’s post by Sony Mobile, the rollout is now happening globally for Xperia Z3 series and will begin next week for Xperia Z2 series.

Sony Video 9.0.A.0.20 app update – Movies app renamed

Sony has renamed its Movies (version 8.0.A.0.8) app to “Videos” now and soon will be available via update center app if you haven’t updated to Lollipop yet otherwise from What’s New app. Earlier Sony changed the name of its Walkman app to Xperia Music, which is now available at Play store.

Sony Video app has the same material design icon which Movies app had, plus the material design status bar in the app. It seems soon Sony will put Video app also on Play store.

CommandCenter app from Motorola Droid Turbo is available for installing on Xperia handsets (modded for 1080p resolution). CommandCenter app widget displays alarm clock, live weather temperature, city details, battery charging status, date and calendar events.

Both light and dark version of widgets are working on non-rooted Android 4.4.4 running Xperia devices, compatibility with Android 4.3 running Xperia devices unknown for the time being. We tested it on our Xperia Z2 running Android KitKat and it works fine, better than Sony’s stock alarm clock widget.

AR Effect app allows you to customize your captured pics and videos with installed themed characters. You need either v3.1.XX or higher version of AR Effect app(3.3.13) to install this theme and it works with only Android 4.3+ running Xperia devices with Sony Social Smart Camera app.

Sony recently put its Album app on Play Store (7.0.A.0.26 version moving it from older 7.0.A.0.24 version) and today Sony Walkman app is put on Play Store in the form of Xperia Music 5.0.A.0.10 app. Sony has released beta testing version of the Album app (most recent was 7.1.A.0.12 version) but today another update came.

Sony Album 7.1.A.0.16 app is now available for download to all beta testing user from Play Store itself. Sony Album 7.1 version brings support for 4K output over MHL. Now you can see your PlayMemories online quota (storage consumption) and ability to choose which menu items appearing in the navigation pane.

Sony puts Xperia Music 5.0.A.0.10 App on Play Store replacing Walkman

Sony has now branded its Walkman app to Xperia Music and it has been officially put on Play Store. Earlier Sony put Album app on Play Store which clearly means that sooner or later we will see Sony Movies app on Play store also.

On Android 5.0.2 Lollipop update Sony rebranded Walkman app to Xperia Music and now it is available for download to all Xperia users running Android 4.0+ from Play Store itself, which means no more updates via Update Center app.

You need rooted Xperia handset running Android 4.3+ with the custom recovery installed to install Xperia Lollipop media sounds flashable zip file. Keep in mind flashing new media sounds will permanently replace your old media sounds with the new ones.

Sony Xperia Cosmos pic leaked again – Flaunts 5 MP front cam with LED Flash

Sony Xperia Cosmos pic has once again leaked, this time one can clearly see the “Sony” branding on the top bezel and at the top right corner there is 5 MP front cam with LED flash. Device is clearly running Android Lollipop version, as seen from the Xperia home launcher spotted in pic.

Xperia Cosmos leaks so far have already confirmed that it will feature MediaTek MT6752 processor (a 64-bit octa-core LTE SoC) and model number would be Sony E5306.
