Sony’s introduced new PS4 Remote Play feature in Xperia Z3 which allows you to use your Xperia device as a second display screen for PlayStation 4 ( connectivity via Wi-Fi ). It seems after the launch of Xperia Z3 we may not see this feature on other Xperia devices for a long time but no need to wait now, Xperia Z3 PS4 Remote Play has been ported on Android 4.0+ Xperia devices.

Xperia Z3 PS4 Remote Play Port works on rooted Xperia devices running android 4.0+ ICS and custom recovery installed. Follow the instructions given below to install it, confirmed working on Xperia Z1 and Xperia Z2.

Xperia Z3 PS4 Remote Play Port

Download the below mentioned two files.

Download PS4RemotePlayPort.zip

Download playstationapp.apk

Step 1 : Flash the PS4RemotePlayPort.zip file in recovery, wipe cache/dalvik, reboot.

Step 2 : Install the playstationapp.apk like a normal apk.

As soon as the app is installed and when you go to “connect to PS4” section, notice the PlayStation faded logo there, tap on it, you will see a message pop up saying “The “PS4 Remote Play” app will be available in Play Store soon”. Check the screenshots below for more clarity.

Note Xperia Z1 users : After installing PS4 Remote Play app if it says “incompatible with your device”, then replace this build.prop file with yours. Do remember to take a back up of your original build.prop file. Wrong editing of build.prop file can result a bootloop.

I don’t understand how to replace the build.prop file. From reading what other people have said, I believe I have to plug my phone into the computer? Once my phone is plugged into the computer than how do I open the area where I can replace the build.prop file. Also how can I save my old build.prop file to prevent bootloop? A video would be very helpful or a step by step instruction for dummies like myself.
