A new 12.1.A.1.205 firmware has been certified for Xperia SP variants on PTCRB which seems a big fixing update over previous 12.1.A.1.201 firmware  which is expected to solve the bugs seen from the original Xperia SP 12.1.A.0.266 firmware android 4.3 update released by Sony.

12.1.A.1.205 firmware is certified for Xperia SP C5303,  C5302 and C5306 variants on PTCRB. On present Xperia SP firmware users are facing issues like heating, low battery life, abnormal functionality of lockscreen wake up and alarm clock. We hope to see some of the bugs getting fixed whenever 12.1.A.1.205 firmware comes out.

We will keep you updated as when Xperia SP 12.1.A.1.205 firmware starts rolling. Sony has still not mentioned when and whether Xperia SP will be getting android 4.4.2 KitKat update in future.

    I have bug with viber when I call somebody the sound gone and gonna internal speaker…I really tired of this

    after the 4.3 update my xperia sp lags and freezes oftenly. on jb 4.2 it was lightening fast and so perfect. will the lagging problem i got after updating to 4.3 will be repaired by this firmware update mentioned above??

    This update should solve the “flickering” screen and minilag. It’s just a guess, I realized with a support forum sony.

    For me 4.3 is almost perfect. Except : extremely low battery life (~90 hrs uptime without usage+perfect GSM coverage ,configured to fully “offline” ) and sometimes minor minilags.

    i have xperia sp, it flikkers after getting update 4.3, and whenever i cleans cache files, fon automatically restarts everytime, sony bring some sol. to it

    I’ve been running the 12.1.a.1.205 update for the past few days with no issues, flickering screen fixed, lag has completely gone and no crashes or freezing at all, i recommend everyone install this update as soon as possible to fix their xperia sp from the problems caused by previous updates. Thanks sony it looks like you got it right this time. 🙂

    Me having WiFi signal problem n my xperia sp..pls help..always showing limited connectivity but other phones showing good sinal in the same place
