Is Xperia Z KitKat 10.5.A.0.230 firmware rolling now ?

Today we saw KitKat 10.5.A.0.227 firmware getting certified for Xperia Z, ZL, ZR and Tablet Z on PTCRB and a few days back we saw same firmware getting leaked online also and now the news is coming that a new higher android 4.4.2 KitKat build 10.5.A.0.230 firmware have struck Xperia Z in Malaysia and Denmark region as reported by many users in Sony Xperia Malaysia FB group and on XDA also.

All the users who reported this new KitKat 10.5.A.0.230 firmware for Xperia Z got it as OTA update, 307.1 MB in size but were not able to install it via OTA. We have not seen yet many Xperia Z users reporting this update. Do check your Xperia Z also if you are getting an OTA update notification for same update or not.

[ UPDATE ] XDA Dev DooMLoRD says 10.5.A.0.230 firmware is currently in testing for prototype devices .

There is no specific info that 10.5.A.0.227 firmware will hit as official update for Xperia Z but now you can test in on your Xperia Z if you don’t want to wait anymore. Sony has officially launched Xperia M2 Dual in India today at a price tag of Rs 21990 i.e. €263, £216, $363 which is very close to the price of Xperia T2 Ultra Dual in India i.e. Rs. 25990 ( $425, £256, €305 ). Xperia M2 Dual will be available 25 April 2014 onwards across all Sony stores, Xperia Flagship stores and other major retail electronic stores in India.

Xperia M2 features 4.8″ qHD Display, Snapdragon 400 SoC 1.2 GHz quad core processor ( MSM8926 / MSM8226 ) with Adreno 305 GPU. Xperia M2 weighs 148 grams and 8.6mm thick. Dual SIM as well as single SIM variants of Xperia M2 are officially launched by Sony globally. Only 3G variant of Xperia M2 Dual will be available in India for purchase in Black, Purple and White colors.

Xperia Z2 17.1.A.2.69 firmware update rolled out

A few days back bug fixing 17.1.A.2.55 firmware update rolled for Xperia Z2 and now another 17.1.A.2.69 firmware update has been rolled. Xperia Z2 is now available in market for purchase in many regions and users are claiming that they have got 17.1.A.2.69 firmware out of the box while many Xperia Z2 users who have this handset already, got an OTA 17.1.A.2.69 firmware update notification.

17.1.A.2.69 firmware update is confirmed in regions like UK and other regions across Europe on D6503 LTE edition. Xperia Z2 17.1.A.2.69 firmware is not yet seen updated on its official software update page on Sony website. No news apps are seen on this update. It seems that it is either the final retail version of the firmware Sony has prepared to release on Xperia Z2.

Xperia Keyboard 6.4.A.0.6 can be downloaded from Play Store now, currently working on android 4.4.2 running Xperia devices only. Sony D6603 about phone screenshot leaked running android 4.4.2 KitKat

Sony D6603 is not a new name for us now as we have seen it number of times till now in various leaks. Sony D6603 first marked its appearance in AnTuTu Benchmark Database scoring 32996 points then it appeared again in AnTuTu Benchmark database where its prominent specifications were leaked. Sony D6603 is again back in rumors as about phone screenshot of Sony D6603 just got leaked which shows device running on android 4.4.2 KitKat firmware ( previously seen running on android 4.3 ), though kernel, build number and baseband versions are not shown.

Sony D6603 specifications as per leaked AnTuTu Benchmark are Snapdragon 800 MSM8974AB SoC processor 2.2GHz quad core, Adreno 330 GPU, 2 GB RAM, 16 GB internal storage, 20.7 MP Rear cam with 2.2 MP front cam, screen resolution 1080p. Leaked specs of Sony D6603 looks very much similar to Xperia Z1. A few days back we saw Xperia Z2 Compact getting passed through FCC under codename Xperia “Altair”, let see does Sony D6603 and Xperia Z2 Compact hold any relationship.

Sony D6603 looks like a high end device but not a flagship model as we are not expecting any flagship from Sony till September, so existence of Sony D6603 is still in shades.
