Remember Sony Sirius, well now it is confirmed that it is aka Sony D6503 which we may see its launch during MWC 2014 event along with Sony D6603. Earlier today we saw leaked pics of Sony D6503 UI and before that leaked pics of Sony D6503 phone itself. In some pics it was seen that Sony D6503 was running android 4.3 17.0.A.0.228 firmware but it is confirmed now that Sony D6503 will come with Android 4.4.2 KitKat out of the box.

XDA Developer “DooMLoRD” and “iRimas” together has leaked sneak peek of the Sony D6503 Android 4.4.2 KitKat Xperia UI, which is truly fascinating and the features of Sony D6503 are also amazing. Well now as we already know all the specification of Sony D6503, Android 4.4.2 KitKat Xperia UI of it is more amazing than it. Let us tell you what Sony will roll out for Xperia handsets in android 4.4.2 KitKat.

Many news features of Android 4.4.2 KitKat Xperia UI are like 4K recording, glove mode, white balance settings, smart backlight control, double tap to wake screen feature is present.

Sony D6503 will be running on Android 4.4.2 17.1.A.X.XXX firmware.

Much Awaited 4K and Timeshift Video recording added

Sony Sirius aka Sony D6503 will feature 4K video recording and Timeshift video recording which will allow high frame rate recording now.

New Display Settings

White Balance, Glove Mode and Smart Backlight Control settings are now included in display settings. Glove settings are already available in Xperia SP and White Balance in many handsets. Smart Backlight settings are the new one.

Smart Backlight Control Settings

Smart Backlight Control keeps the screen on while you are using your Xperia without touch operation ( eg. looking at a photo ). When you look away from the screen, it turns off according to your sleep settings. Similar feature was noticed in android 4.3 on Galaxy S4.

Double Tap Screen to Wake Up Settings

Double tap the screen to wake it up from sleep or lock.

Built-in-answering Machine included

Sony has now included a built-in-answering machine on Sony D6503 or it is UI feature, well we need to look it at that.

Two Home Launchers included

Sony has included the two-home launcher settings in Sony D6503 and now you can select your home launcher from two included.

Two options are there to choose from “Xperia Home” and “Simple Home”.

Simple Home settings include bigger fonts and is very basic in nature.

New Sound Settings

Audio Accessories option is now listed under Sound settings. At present it is not clear whether it displays the paired accessories or something else.

USB DAC support is included

Now play high resolution audio using USB DAC/DAC amp. When connected sound effects are disabled.

New Personalisation Settings included

Themes option is now changed to “Xperia Themes” which will allow you to download themes from Sony Select app.

Now you have the rights to allow which icons should appear in status bar and from which apps notification should come from.

Default SMS app Change settings

Sony has given a feature to select your own default SMS app.

16 GB internal storage for Sony D6503

Sony has included a 16 GB onboard memory on Sony D6503 and it will be having an external SD car support also.

New Power Management App

Power Management app is now divided among “Devices” and “Accessory”.

New Location Settings 

“High Accuracy” mode is seen it seems, there are now options to choose which type of accuracy settings needed.

Printing Option included

Printing option included in system settings now.

While swiping up from home soft key, What’s New and Google Now option pops up.

No change in the media apps of Sony D6503 is seen and latest calendar app is also included.

Garmin Navigon – Xperia Edition included

Garmin Navigon – Xperia Edition app included in Sony D6503.

If sources are to believed Sony D6503 aka Sony Sirius supports two speakers, one at top near notification light and other at the bottom side. It is also seen that Sony D6503 will have S-Force engine and stereo speakers now 🙂

Well we are very much impressed by Sony’s work on Sony D6503 Android 4.4.2 KitKat Xperia UI, it is simply awesome 🙂 It is speculated that same UI will be rolled on android 4.4.2 KitKat for Xperia Z1 and other Xperia Z members hopefully including Xperia SP.

It is clearly visible now that Sony is working on Android 4.4.2 KitKat now and it will be soon rolled on aforesaid devices.
