Movies app 5.3.A.0.18 and Video Unlimited app 8.0.B.0.8 Update Rolling on Xperia Z1, Z Ultra, Z, ZL, ZR, L

In recent leaked Android 4.3 10.4.B.0.569 firmware for Xperia Z and ZL we saw new Movies app 5.3.A.0.18 version and here it comes officially on android 4.2.2 Xperia Z devices and Xperia L. Sony rolled out Movies app 5.3.A.0.18 and Video Unlimited app 8.0.B.0.8 version update on Xperia Z1, Z Ultra, Z, ZL, ZR and Xperia L. Like this we hope new Album app 5.2.A.1.26 version may be rolled out soon.

Movies app 5.3.A.0.18 update brings major changes for Sony’s Movies app. Both updates available only via update center app as an OTA, look for a notification as shown below for updating movies app and video unlimited app. Sony’s Video Unlimited app is available over some regions only so you might not see the notification for it.

As per changelog mentioned in update notification from Sony :-

• Access to new Video Unlimited app’s features.

• Attractive banner design and faster access to home network devices.

What we noticed…

• In Settings menu of Movies app 5.3.A.0.18, you see two new options of “Enabling Subtitles” and “Background Playback” of video while you are using another app.

• Latest motives and TV shows directly available on your enables devices.
