What happened to the remote control and small app icons? What about the shortcut icons on the lock screen for the camera and the music? Is this the open source version update or is it truly the stock Sony update.?

    • aram August 6, 2013 at 10:24 pm - Reply

Yes, I also got the update in PC Companion. (not in the tablet update center).

    2 Strange things happenned:

    – Before update I had 34% battery, After update I got 58%!!! ???

    – It is definitely slower.

btw, all brightness and other useful buttons are gone from the status bar. Or is it? Cause I can’t find it….

    • Anurag Kumar August 6, 2013 at 11:02 pm - Reply

Definitely this battery reading bug was in Xperia Z on previous firmware and it’s now…looking Sony gave this bug to Tablet Z owners.

P.S. Users say that if you update within less than 50% battery remaining then you get this bug…although i don’t believe it…it’s something related to firmware…

They are their, try to find out them…everything is their like small app drawer etc..

      • aram August 6, 2013 at 11:34 pm - Reply

        Yes!!!
Finally, It might have been there even in 4.1.2 !!

From the settings -> Display -> Personalisation -> Quick settings
you can select the icons you would like to see on the status bar drop down.

        • aram August 6, 2013 at 11:37 pm - Reply

Although it still pisses me off now to have the sliders on the shortcut dropdown. The brightness button simply toggles like a button…

    Changelog update:
The developer options are hidden by default in this version of android. (See the screenshot)

To bring the option back, simply go to the settings -> About Tablet.

Then tap 7 times on Build number and it appears! Trollface!
