But last noticed we spotted an unusual perf_event exploit patch fixing Android 4.2.2 10.3.1.A.0.244 firmware update on Xperia Z and ZL.
Just now we have spotted the same Android 4.2.2 10.3.1.A.0.244 firmware update on Xperia ZR also. Xperia ZR Android 4.2.2 10.3.1.A.0.244 firmware update is confirmed for both C5503 LTE version and C5502 HSPA+ version.
Xperia ZR Android 4.2.2 10.3.1.A.0.244 firmware update has been rolled out in Nordic countries till now, Some users from India also have reported the update but can’t say whether they updated via flashtool or a pure OTA update. Update Confirmed in Russia now.
10.3.1.A.0.244 firmware update is a new update for Jelly Bean version 4.2.2 from Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean 10.1.1.A.1.310 and a perf_event exploit patch fixing update from Sony.

XDA Developer DooMLoRD has just tweeted that all Xperia Z / ZL users who have rooted handset, shouldn’t flash this 10.3.1.A.0.244 firmware ftf file directly. They should use OTA ROOT KEEPER, otherwise root will be lost in this new firmware.
How to keep Root in Xperia ZR Android 4.2.2 10.3.1.A.0.244 firmware update ?
If you are updating your Xperia ZR directly via Flashtool, everything in (the /system partition) gets formatted completely, so you loose root :/ So update it over OTA to keep root.
Root Access will be lost, if flashing via FlashTool.
Use OTA RootKeeper, if you want to have root access remain to your phone. If you are updating your Xperia ZR by “Update Center” app, then using OTA RootKeeper, you can save your root access.

I haven’t come across yet any Indian getting xzr update..i think it will take a month time more to reach here in India, its better you flash it no issues its safe.
We just saw xz xzl getting same update in India not for XZR though users from Nordic regions got that.

disable stamina mode and install DS battery saver application from the android market.DS battery saver incresases ur standy time.It disables most of the background running processes so that u can get a better battery life when ur mobile is active.

HI ,,i purchased my ZR C5502 from india 2 weeks back and am right now in UK. i tried the update by PC companion but after the process it is same 4.1 version.
Secondly the wifi is not connecting and helpdesk is saying my wifi password is wrong which is nonsense. It wont connect anywhere. It saves and then says authorization error.
whats your take on this bro?

Everything is good. New look n feel is nice. But screen shot option is been removed from power menu which was nice. Request you to add the screenshot option back. Now it’s difficult to take screen shot.

Well it is not software related thing…!!!! As 4G LTE modem is not installed in C5502 so C5502 can’t get 4G LTE Connectivity in any manner….
If you flash the C5503 ftf on your C5502, you will get LTE open in mobile connectivity but you can’t connect to it, as when your phone don’t have 4G moden, how can you get it…Isn’t it was obvious thing.

Is simple words you should get this :-
Sony Mobile India confirms LTE can’t run on c5502 Indian model of XZR, you can contact the customer care if you want…
Second if you flash c5503 ftf on c5502 you get lte option in connectivity but you can’t run it. If doubt it check yourself.
Rest there is always a separate modem for lte if not why SONY release two models are they nuts.
In future also no update can run lte on 3g model c5502.
Same bands are listed for whole xperia z family, c6602 c6902 can’t run 4g in any case.

By the end of 2014 we may see 4g phones in India as at present 4g users in India is 0% so unless they are increases to a certain % Sony not gonna release them.
hello dear friend anurag, iam frm chandigarh punjab,i purchase sony xperia zr c 5503 frm amazon.co.uk and its 4g lte mobile ,can i update my c 5503 with firmware 4.2.2, if i update with latest firmware 4.2.2 then 4 g lte option gone iam worry abt that becz 4 g is not now in india.and i one thing i also clear that only with few rupess more i buy c 5503 online but i dnt knw why sony launch 2 models of all mobiles.price difference is very nominal between c 5502 and c 5503 a person buy this type of expensive mobile easily pay some more money for 4g lte.i dnt no why sony do this with indian peoples.
Hey buddy I am fed up of saying this thing to all people , In India 4G LTE users are nearly 0% so what’s the point of launching a phone, unless 4G users are increased to a certain % 4G will phones will not be here on a large scale. Plus at present in India 4G can’t be used for voice calling it’s band present in India of airtel can only be used for surfing net.
Another truth – In India 3G users are also very less, companies are in loss for 3G bands purchase.
Answer to your query – as your model c5503 if showing update in pc compabion then you will get same update of region from where your phone belongs and you will retain 4G connection in settings but it has no official support in India as it’s an imported handset.

Xperia ZR C5503 is a 4G LTE VERSION not officially launched in India so if you purchase it you will not get Sony warranty in India at any cost.
4G bands of C5503 may not work in India, I am not sure on it and you may also not get 4G calling service as only internet 4 G service is available in India now ( for calling it downgrades in network to make call on 4G from 3g network )
Xperia ZR C5502 is a 3G HSPA+ Indian version officially launched so if you buy c5502 from an Indian website or Indian Sony showroom you will get warranty here.
If you are not moving out of India then buy c5502 from India only and get warranty from Sony
I’m trying to get the c5506 baseband on the c5503. I’m using flashtool, but when it says to connect the powered off phone while holding the back button (i’m holding the vol. down) nothing is happening. I have USB debugging turned on. Any thoughts?
