Jelly Bean 6.2.B.0.211 firmware update Changelog

  • No Stamina  Mode, same extended battery mode is there.

No STAMINA MODE in Jelly Bean 6.2.B.0.211 firmware update Xperia S

  • Same 685 MB RAM as it was in 6.2.B.0.200 firmware.
  • Wi-Fi bug fixed, connecting very fast now 🙂
  • 1080P HD video recording still lags.
  • NO HDR mode in camera settings.
  • GPS issue bug fixed 🙂
  • 2G Data connectivity issue is still there.

Basically what users are now reporting that, SONY has not fixed any bugs except for that Wi-Fi issue and GPS. All bugs ares till present in this update. :/ We are checking the battery drain issue now and Wi-Fi also again. If to sum up Jelly Bean 6.2.B.0.211 firmware update only FIXED Wi-Fi bug, nothing more, every bug from Jelly Bean 6.2.B.0.200 firmware is still present, overall it’s again a disappointing update from Sony 🙁

Request to every user commenting, please do mention your region in which you got update .200 or .211 JB and the list of problems / bugs you are facing with screenshots if possible, it will help us to list all bugs and make a change log which we can forward to official Xperia Support.

i got 6.2.B.0.211 new update notification today 😀 bt im currently in ICS 🙂 but im not going to update my XS coz, you people says that 1080p camera lagging on…. no 2G, battery drains than ICS 😛 so what about camera is that still having ficus problem same like ICS or not 🙂 if so then what is the use of .211 😛

    • Anurag Kumar June 12, 2013 at 5:10 pm - Reply

Yes there is everything bad about JB 6.2.B.0.211 and .200 firmware, both are full of bugs…Sony has not able to get a single stable update for it’s users. Do not update if you want, remain on ICS, flash all news apps or anything you want. Do not update.

This usually happens when you remain your phone get connected to power source even after it is charged. To over come it once press volume up button and power button together…do boot your phone via this combination then check is issue still there ?

        • Anurag Kumar June 14, 2013 at 11:48 am - Reply

Yes the same bugs are present in JB .211 firmware only we guess Wi-Fi issue resolved which is also present for some users. Well you can downgrade to ICS and port other features or JB like media apps, lockscreen and other features if you want.

OR Sony has not released any JB for Xperia ION yet, they have certified the same JB .211 firmware for ION, now when so many XS and XSL users complaining regarding bugs in JB .211 firmware Sony may consider to roll out another update soon in some weeks, but till now no notification is there for any update.

If you are not a hardcore user of CAM , then you remain on JB, for 2g net issue you can use 3G it is working fine. Battery drain is an issue for us, it is draining at the rate of 3x as compared to ICS. I can’t download anything neither on 2g or 3g. GPlay always shows error 927 not able to download anything on Wi-Fi or mobile net.

No it is not the case, whenever JB .211 will be available in your region you will get the update notification, no matter you install the previous version or not.

I connected my Xperia S LT26i to my PC and PC companion gave the update software hint about the new 6.2.B.0.211 firmware , i was very happy and i started updating my phone , it was a clean and easy upgrading from ics to jb … until i noticed the wifi problem … I CAN’T connect to any wireless network as long as my sim card inserted , why it is happening to me , is it because I’m in Syria ? how can i fix this problem? do i need to extract my sim card every time i want to connect wireless ???!!! Please ppl Sony must have a solution ??????

    • Anurag Kumar June 14, 2013 at 9:01 pm - Reply

      Hello,
Your region “Syria” has nothing to do with Wi-fi problem. We have a different kind of issue here, we can connect to any Wi-Fi network but can’t download anything neither able to surf.
Sony rolled this JB .211 update with no bugs fixing.

On person you can’t fix this problem, we have seen people reporting this issue in sony mobile talk forum but no issue we can’t see any solution. all we can is wait for a new bug fixing update from Sony which will actually fix the update. This JB .211 is just a crap update from Sony.

It descepcionante that the new version of android for xperia having failures after of taken so long time for to be released. I don’t see that errors of 6.2.B.0.200 are corrected in 6.2.B.0.211. The FULL HD video recording lag is inconceivable. I thought back to ICS.

    Good. Greetings from Colombia.
I just upgraded my Sony Xperia Acro S via ftf to version 6.2.b.0.211. What I notice is an improvement in terms of the interface feels very fluid. The problem with this 1080 recording yet, however I feel it has decreased somewhat. As for WiFi connectivity have had no problems. The 2G I works perfect. The battery seems to be back to normal a bit (can improve). Problem with the volume up button has been corrected.
In short, the only bug I see it is serious is that of Full HD recording. But at 720p works wonders.

Greetings again and I hope my comments serve something.
PSDT: Thanks for uploading the ftf.

2 – With fresh installation – While updating via SUS, there comes an option to do it.

Having LT26w and this 6.2.B.0.200 JB update on it, full of problems.

Can someone help me and tell where i can get latest ICS .ftf file for this LT26w (nordic / Finland), normal official version. It can be rooted also, but not needed, just needing a proper working phone after this phonebreaker JB update.

list of my problems with this JB:
    – Microfone quality goes down (people complainin at they don’t hear me).
    – Speaker (normal) volume is reduced.
    – Battery consuption is atleast 2x.
    – Battery loading stops randomly, never know is it loaded on morning, 1% can be waiting you.
    – Games are running slow, and FPS rates are going low.
    – Bluetooth is jumping on/off connections.
    – Bluetooth jams/drops off – need to close and reconnect, maybe works after this, many times had to do several times before car HF works (MBEW212).
    – Camera is missing many options.
    – Pictures have much noise / Bad quality.
    – Captured area of picture is now narrower than it was, approx ~10-15% smaller.
    – Screen can open during phone call, even it has closed by pressing powerbutton.
    – APPs Screen visibly on daytime is POOR (white&gray colors used on many APPs, call,SMS etc)
    – BackGround color (WHITE) makes using of this phone at night time during driving really dangerous, it makes you blind ‘coz of WHITE background.
-Reactions of touchscreen are lagging sometimes, mostly happens when trying to open from screenlock.

Maybe more, just don’t remember at now.

    • Anurag Kumar July 17, 2013 at 6:08 pm - Reply

Its impossible to find out all bugs by the company itself….they cant test all though they should…bugs arise when we use phone for a long time in different conditions…company is not able to test all bugs thats for updates are rolled out to remove bugs when they are identified by users..

But sony done pretty bad with updates, they all are buggy…we dumped our xperia sl for this reason only.

Yes it means you won’t be able to unlock your bootloader. You still can use those custom roms which are based on your firmwares kernels.in file other wise for totally news ROMS like CM you must have an unlocked bootloader which is i guess not permitted on your device…

When the step they asked us to remove the phone and connect holding down key,it showed green light too..but suddnly showing the blue light with the error message i mentioned above it showed me device is disconnected…
Is that because my XS is not allowed to bootloader unlock??
